After several years of no issues with Lymphocytic Colitis, I find myself in a major flare. To heal the inflammation, I remember magnesium and Vit D3, but don’t remember a daily dose of each. I take Dr’s Best Magnesium Glycinate tablets which are 200 mg per serving twice a day and do foot soaks three times a day. For the liquid D3, one drop has 50 mcg and take that three times a week. Is that a proper dosage for the healing process? Thanks for any help you can give.

Regarding magnesium, in my opinion, If you're taking Doctors Best Brand of Magnesium Glycinate, it probably works best for most of us to take one tablet with each of three meals. That divides up the dose during the day, and should provide A total dose of 300 mg, which is adequate magnesium For most of us. Taking too much at one time can contribute to diarrhea, because we can only absorb so much magnesium over a given length of time. And although taking larger doses might be indicated in some situations, for anyone who has compromised kidney function (which can be a common problem as we get older) larger doses can cause cardiovascular issues. The foot soaks are probably optional, depending on how much magnesium you need, and they're probably safer for anyone who might have compromised kidney function.
I don't have any experience with, nor do I keep up with liquid vitamin D dosage. Hopefully, someone else will be able to help you with that. I take Doctors Best Brand Vitamin D3 5000 IU Softgels. I take one every day during the colder/cooler months (the months with less sunshine), and one every other day during the sunnier months. This allows me to keep my serum vitamin D level in the range of 60 to 75 ng/mL most of the time. Remember, though, were all different.
