I ordered the Seriphos on line and have had it for some time & not sure how I should take it. Do you take it in the evening before bed and if so how many......I am also taking Isocort so wasn't sure if I should take Seriphos too. What is your recommendation?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Lori,
My naturopath has me take 2 at bedtime or a little before bedtime. If you have Seriphos it must be the same as me, they are 1000 mg. caps. I don't usually take it with food, and haven't noticed a problem, but the online instructions suggest taking it 15 minutes before a meal. Alison probably has a reason for instructing me to take it before bed since she's seen my adrenal tests (the line across the graph is almost flat!). She usually has patients take it for about two months. You want to avoid having too high of a level of serine as well, so I have the impression that it shouldn't be taken indefinitely.
The dose instructions I found online are a little different:
Like all macro minerals, it is best absorbed when taken before meals or before bedtime at least 15 minutes before eating. For stress, take one capsule at least 15 minutes before eating.
NOTE: Seriphos works with the pineal gland. Take two in the morning and two at lunch time before meals for better sleep at nighttime. This mimics the cortisol "curve".
I guess we are each different, so you could try to either approach (before bedtime or in the morning and at lunch) and see what works for you. However, I only take two a day (at night), unlike the four suggested in online instructions (I just googled seriphos).
I don't know anything about Isocort, so have no idea if there would be any interactions.
Good luck with this. If you have any other tips on supporting the adrenals from your experience, I would love to hear them.
Warmly, Celia

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
