The doctor says...

Post by celia »

Hi all,

My PCP thinks I may have gastritis (inflamation of the stomach lining) or an ulcer. She considers it only logical that if one has interstial inflamation of the colon (e.g. MC) that one might have inflammation in other parts of the digestive tract. The only way to know for certain is the upper endoscopy. I happen to have one scheduled for June 5th just in case I need it. She also is doing an h. pylori antibodies test, which is sometimes the culprit. But of course, you can have gastritis without a bacterial infection, just from food allergy for example.

Please keep your fingers crossed for me! Celia

Good Luck Celia with the endoscopy. I sure hope you get to feeling better. Sometimes I think Stomache pain is the worst. Especially when you have no Idea why. What are you eating? Love Oma

Thanks Shirley, Oma and Tex.

Oma, I am eating simple meals ---- vegetables and meat, poulty or fish. Today we had rabbit and I had chard with some olive oil. I feel fine after I eat...the problem comes an hour or two later, and in the middle of the night.

I'm taking DGL now --- deglcyrrhizinated licorice. Some research studies have shown it to be as effective or more effective than the acid blockers like tagamet and zantac.

Hugs, Celia
