IBS
I've got IBS. The Dr. just told me yesterday. Well, I figured that - been constipated all my life and it's been getting worse. Anyway, she's trying me on a new medication - Tegaserod Hydrogen Mal (whatever that is).
Hopefully it will help. I've been trying to do all the right stuff - eating lots of fruit, veggies, fibre and drinking lots of water. I fall down on the exercise part though - just can't do too much with the osteo, but I do what I can. Anyway, that's that. Now I'll deal with it.
I've been so busy - crafting, studying and trying to get some Spring cleaning done. Kind of hard with a husband like mine though, but I keep trying. Nearly murdered him the other day when he tracked mud in from the garden all over the house - not just one place, but everywhere!!! Anyway, he did clean it up when he was chastized.
We have been getting a few new things - I just ordered a new SLR camera online yesterday - A fujifilm finepix S5200. Another new thing to learn. John wanted something with a telescopic lens and he wants to learn how to use it (this coming from a guy who can't figure out out DVD player yet (haha). He can take things apart and put them back together, but can't run them. Anything digital defeats him. Anyway, I'll try to help him with the camera once I learn it. Our other big purchase was a new oak buffet and hutch to match our other oak furniture. It's really pretty. I can hardly wait to get it - it's on order and should be here in a week or so.
Other than that, I've been working on buying some new clothes for our trips and generally just new Spring and Summer clothes. The poor Visa is getting tired. Anyway, time we got some stuff we want - you only live once, right?
Well, I have another busy day ahead, so have to get at it.
All the best to all of you - sorry I haven't been around much, but will try to get caught up soon.

I live with one of those. Not to mention tornados Erin and Kayla! And like Geoff says, I'm not much better....we are both outdoor people. Will do whatever it takes to get yard work/gardening done, but inside we kind of fall apart. Molly doesn't help much either. Despite being almost a year and half old now, and looking like a big cat, she is still all kitten and we specifically bought our house to entertain her (in her eyes) .
Sorry to hear you've got one more problem to add to your list, but at least your doc is working with you.
Katy
Well, crap, I'm really sorry to hear about the IBS. The only thing I could find (with limited time) on the med is:
Tegaserod hydrogen maleate is a newly released 5-HT4 receptor partial agonist. It is targeted for constipation predominant IBS females. The role of this drug, as well as antibiotics and probiotics, remains to be defined.

I'm glad you are getting some nice things for yourself, Momster. You deserve them!
You surely are doing all the right things vis-a-vis the C. I've had C. since the start of my vacation (March 5) and am perplexed as to why. I think it might be connected to the h. pylori, but I've never seen that connection made on the internet.
Good Earth laxative tea works like a charm for me! I find I usually need to be close to the bathroom the next morning though as often the urge is sudden, even though it's not D. I try not to overuse it thought. I had a"norman" today, so I am hoping the DGL I am taking for the tummy trouble is helping out the C. too. I defnitely feel much better since I started taking it.
Be well, Celia

Celia------I shy away from a lAXATIVE TYPE STIMULANT---
I have *C* issues also but thats due to all the meds. I take ----I found that a few tablespoons of Peanut Butter stimulates me--
And I luv Peanut Butter---
Maybe just a plain stool softener would be beneficial too--
My GI had told me it be *ok* to take stool softeners---morning and night--or however U find they work!!!
Glad U saw NORMAN too he has been our special friend for a long time now--
keep a smile

Momster,
Just what you needed..........another issue on your plate, huh.
Well, I hope it won't be too bad to handle.
Glad you got yourself some new toys....keep yourself occupied and your mind on other things.
I think most of us have "one of those husbands", or at least we think we do.
Take care of yourself,
Love, Shirley

Hi Momstar!
RATZ - just what you don't need - another health problem. Well, at least you will find lots of support here - we certainly understand BOWEL problems. And some with MC were initially diagnosed with IBS.
Have you ever had biopsies done during colonoscopy? If not, it might be a good idea to request it during your next colonscopy - since MC appears to be genetic and runs in families. Not all here have diarrhea with their MC - and some do have constipation too.
It sounds as if you are keeping busy as a beaver. I am tired just reading about your activities. LOL!
Hang in there. And enjoy the spring weather.
Love,
Polly
