I started on my h. pylori protocol from the naturopath, which is a mix of many different herbs and supplements. After doing more research, I understand that it's not easy to eradicate h. pylori by any means, even antibiotics. I can resort to antibiotics at a later date if the herbal protocol is not effective. I am already much better, so I feel I am off to a good start.

According to a March 2006 e-medicine article, h. pylori is most often acquired in childhood and complications develop later in life. It is far more common in people born before 1950 when the conditions were less sanitary. I'm right at the 1951 edge there! I found that point interesting, although I don't know how they ascertain that it is usually acquired in childhood.

I am so grateful to the chiropractor for turning me on to this possibility. With his help, I've been able to identify intolerances and expand my diet. I've gone from a low of 98 lbs up to 100 lbs, and hope to keep gaining. At this point, my guess is that my peripheral neuropathy symptoms may relate to a B 12 deficiency rather than being a food intolerance. I'm waiting to get my B 12 test back to see.

Thanks for everyone's help and support. Celia
