I am so achy today! I can't figure out what is going on. I haven't had any known gluten. I am still dealing a bit with what is probably a pinched nerve in my shoulder blade area from a week and a half ago, which seems to be making my upper spine very sore. My knees are killing me because when I do deep knee bends they get sore, and having to give antibiotics to 3 cats 2 times a day, which involves sitting on them on the floor, is probably causing that problem. Last night we went to see Star Wars...good movie, but the local movie theater has not been renovated seatwise since it was built and the seats are horrible! I swore after the first Lord of the Rings I'd never go to a "long" movie there again, but, gotta do what you gotta do to keep your guy happy (and I enjoyed it too...just wish I'd seen Episodes 1 and 2).

I'm also just plain tired, which always makes it worse. Its hot and humid here (summer finally sprung) which probably isn't helping. Wah, wah, wah, wah, wah.

I won't go to a theater anymore unless they have stadium seating and the seats are new and comfortable. Two and a half hours of being in an uncomfortable position is pretty hard on the old bod.

How much longer are the "kids" on antibiotics?

HOPEFULLY, Tigger and Cocoa are done this evening. Little miss Molly is still having D, which probably means the giardia isn't completely out of her system yet, so she will probably be given more meds tonight (I have to stop at the vet's on the way home to find out for sure). Tigger and Cocoa don't seem to have symptoms so hopefully that means they haven't picked it up from her. Pilling one cat is bad enough, but when they see others getting tormented, they figure out their number is coming up and take off. First one of a session is usually pretty easy because they like attention so they let me pick them up! Of course Molly is the worst of the 3 because I can't sit on her they way I do the others because she is still small enough to slip out from between my legs, and kitten toe nails are MUCH sharper than adult ones!

Sorry to hear you're all sore :( I've been VERY achy lately too.. last coupla months in particular, and don't know why of course.. but you having a sudden burst of increased achiness is suspicious..

Do you keep a food journal? Eaten ANYTHING "different" lately?

I am sorry that you feel so achey, could it be the weather or some way you slept? I won't go to theaters either anymore, haven't got the patience for unruly children that parents refuse to make behave. Hubby Mike and I wait til it comes on cable. Love Oma

OMG, you didn't see episodes one & two? No wonder you didn't enjoy it!
I remember an old theater we use to go to & the seats reclined. They were comfy and cushy....ahhhh!

Hi Katy,

The incubation period of giardiasis is roughly 7 to 21 days. I realize your symptoms are not a perfect match, but you may need to get checked again, if you don't see any other reason for the symptoms.

You are definitely at risk, with a known vector in your immediate environment.

The only symptom from the list I've found for giardia is the fatigue. But I think that is related to this general achiness. Even the joint in one of my big toes hurts. I feel like its a gluten reaction, but I haven't changed my diet significantly and I've been doing pretty good in that department for about 2 weeks now.

Maybe I'll research Lyme's disease...I know we've got dog ticks around, so probably have deer ticks as well./

Hi Katy,

With Lyme's, I would assume that you would have flu-like symptoms, probably with fever, and the classic rash circle on your chest--thought I'm not sure the rash is always present. When my MC symptoms first presented, I really thought I had Lyme's disease, (because of the recurring flu-like symptoms), but that stopped happening after I got my diet figured out.

I thought the circle rash is wherever the tick bit, but I could be wrong.. either way, Polly might shed some light on that.. I believe she had Lyme's awhile back..

That was my recollection too was that the rash would be around the tick bite. I haven't seen that, but then one doesn't always get a rash either.
