You al have seen My Avatar that I have on now......My question is this, to cut my hair or let it grow and be an older woman with hair down to my knees (eventually) and when they put me in the rest home I can be like Lady Gadiva and go around naked, with just my hair hanging down....what do you think? :hyper: :attention: Seriously....I can't decide if I have the (OLDER) face for hair piled up on my head. :breakdance:  Soooooo??????? I wouldn't go any shorter...it looks nice. You could go a little longer or get a perm...do you get perms or do you have naturally wavey hair?

I just bought a hair sytles magazine for my daughter to get ideas for the prom (which was last night) It has lots and lots of styles to choose from.

I'm terrible when it comes to hair...mine is very thin - I get a body perm every 3 months and sometimes I take a curling iron to the top....

too much work...but I find it's worth it. :pigtail:

Good luck with whatever you decide I'm sure it will look great!
(I'd go with a style that you don't have to work with if you can)

Love,
Mo

And like U--I am thinking of letting my hair grow---thats IF it will----
If the thyroid is causing the thinning---then I might be Telly Salvalas

The current "dew" looks great but like Barbarba said, YOU have to be happy with it. I found that what I like and how long it takes me to achieve the look I like is the determining factor in how I wear my hair. No one fixes it before work but ME!!!

I'm having the same problem right now. My hair is thick enough for 10 people!!!! The weight of it makes it lay down and I have naturally curly hair which drives me nuts if it is growing out beyond my cutting time. When I wear it short (shoulder length), I have to have it cut every 3 weeks! :yikes: Wednesday I will have my color and cut and can't wait!!!!! It drives me nuts. I am also trying to decide what to do with it - I'm getting tired of the same ole thing again and with summer coming, I need to either wear it short or long enough that I can pull it out of my face and off of my neck to stay cool.

Decisions, decisions....................

Ok, I haven't helped you any, I've just rambled!

 I'm with the others, Oma. It looks very nice in your avatar but if you want it longer.................do it!! I go for the very easiest style I can find that I can stand to look at every day.

I used to get perms all the time but my hair just kept turning to "straw" so I decided to just wear it natural and it's much, much healthier now. Sometimes I miss the "curls" but I don't miss having to style it with a curling iron, etc.

Like you, several years ago I decided to let mine grow before I grew to "old" for long hair. I wore it long for a couple of years. Then I saw a picture of me and ran and had it chopped off.

I'm sure you'll find a style you are happy with. Might just take a while.

Oma,

You have a nice shaped face for short hair -- a real blessing in a hot summer climate!
Sometimes I wish I HAD a Kojac (sp)!! I'd just wash it with a wash cloth, and that would be it.

I wear mine in an unlayered style, and just cut it shorter in hot weather than I do in winter. That's one thing I like about this style is that without the layering, it doesn't require a cut nearly as often, and there's no "growing out" disaster before the winter length happens, because it's essentially the same shape.

Since my hair still has body (had plenty left after the thyroid issues thinned it a little), all I do after it's washed is towel dry it, and towel dry it til it's not wet looking anymore, all the time brushing it into shape with a plastic brush.

End result looks just as though I'd used a curling iron, as long as I keep working on it during the drying process. I do all this while I'm waiting for my Mom's hair to be finished drying under the dryer, so it's a very un-labor-intensive process, and it's easy to keep.
I don't even have to use any hair spray or gel.

One thing that I really like about it is that the ends don't get all split between cuts.
The longer I go between shampoos, the more the natural wave acts like a set, which is good since I really don't have all that much time for froo-froo lately. Call this a wash and wear "do."

I wish I could wear my hair like you do, OMA, but have to go with the shape of my face.

You look good in the pic.

Yours, Luce

Hi Oma.

I am also at a crossroads with my hair, except for me it is colour.

I have been blessed with hair that grows incredibly fast, but unfortunately, it's not so great when you are totally gray. I have to touch up my roots every 2 weeks, as after two weeks, I already have about 1/2 inch of gray screaming out at me in the mirror! I don't have the skin colouring to look good as a blonde, but I definitely have to go lighter so the roots don't glare so much. I was thinking maybe highlights that the gray will blend in better with...... mmmmm decisions, decisions......

I think the shape of your face is perfect for a short hairstyle. If you look at the link, check out the third row down, first lady in the row. You would look fabulous with a cut like that!

I don't even know if this link will work, I hope so!

Hugs.

I had not had my hair cut short in about 10 years.. wore it on top of my head. One of my sons called it my evil librarian look. Last fall one of my daughter in laws treated me to a hair make over. Short with two colors. There is no way I could afford to keep up the color and I have since gone even shorter twice...

I have very fine/baby fine hair! What I have now I call sorta puffy pixie with not much emphasis on puffy since it is so fine... I guess I will keep it this way.. just as easy to maintain as long hair and not as severe looking...

That's my 2 cents worth...LOL

Karen,

I liked the website you posted for hairstyles, I personally like medium hair with light bangs...I haved to get a body wave perm thought seeing as my hair is so thin....

I started out with the first one in the third row... went a bit shorter twice... too much maintenance in the longer one for me after years of doing nothing but pile it up....:)

Mo,

Your hairstyle and my hairstyle (length and cut and colour) are almost exactly the same! I too like a bit of bangs.....

I don't know about you, but back in the 80's, boy oh boy, was I into the feathered look big time!! :bear:
