Prayer request, if you pray.
Hi,
This is very sad, but last Thursday, I attended the funeral of a long time friend's 45 yr old son. He had had a massive heart attack, apparently while boarding a plane in Mexico headed for the USA, while on a business trip. He had died about a week before he could be buried, due to being out of the country.
He left three young children, a wife, two sisters and their children as well as my friends, his mom and dad. All of it was sad, but it was particularly sad to see his mother hurting so. I know they could all use your prayers.
I had just talked with this friend a couple of weeks ago at their retirement home north of the city, and was pleased to hear that they were doing so well, and now this! Guess we never know from one day to the next what life holds in store. I've not been able to get this off of my mind since I first heard about it, but there's so little one in my situation can do, particularly since my friend now lives a long way from where we used to visit regularly. I'm sure that she's in sore need of alot of rest right now, and then she'll really need someone to listen. I can't imagine what it must be like for her -- just too painful to imagine, and for his dad.
Also, I feel for those children with no dad to be there when they start to date, graduate, and march them down the aisle at their wedding, not to mention all the other things that good dads like this man do for their kids. I'm sure that his widow will need lots of strength as well with all she's got to do as a sudden single parent.
Thanks for "listening."
Yours, Luce
