Hi from roni and Emily
Hope this message finds everyone in great health and happy spirits. Just wanted to up date everyone on Emily. She is doing much better!!! It's
been 1 year and 3 months since she was diagnosed with CC. And as many of you know it was a tough road.
At this time Emily has still not had to resort to any medications. As you know her triggers are gluten, dairy, yeast (a big one), chocholate, and most sugars. She is definatly not allergic to corm. Even though her test from Dr. Fine came back for an allergy to soy it has not been a hugh
problem. Though she is allergic to tofu. So, I think it has to do with how much she eats and what form it is in.
Emily still does not have a normal BM. She won't stay off sugar. I'm sure if she really could eliminate this she would feel so much better. She also, still eats cheese and dairy in small quantities.
But, she is doing so much better that she is finishing highschool and works about 20 hours a week at the video store.
She decided to stay home for college for at least two years. She really does not want to deal with her diet in a dorm setting. She's learned to shop and cook for herself. I really do very little for her any more. We are so fortunate to have Whole Foods headquarters in our backyard. Thier prepared foods use basic ingrediants without a lot of added junk. After, not eating in a resturant for almost a year, Emily has been able to find a few places that are safe bets for her. We are so proud of her.
I know that several people were scepticle about the NAET that we did with Emily. It did help. Not that she is going to eat wheat again, but, she has been able to tolerate foods like tomatoes that she was highly allergic too in the past. After, doing several sessions of NAET she just seemed to get better, but not perfect. I wouldn't mind doing more, but it is a bit pricey.
So, for any new people out there that are questioning if the diet works. It does!!!!!! There is no way Emily could be off medication if it weren't for getting off gluten and dairy.
If any of you have any questions feel free to ask.

Hi Roni,
This is great news about Emily! You have worked tirelessly on her behalf and I'm sure she appreciates it. Sounds like she's falling into kind of a regular young adults schedule now that she's got some diet time under her belt. It takes awhile to adjust to that's for sure. So glad she's feeling better- sugars a tough one to give up.
It's good to hear from you- thanks for the post and give Emily a hug from the Potty People will ya?
Love,
Joanna

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Hi Roni,
Nice to hear your update on Emily, and to see how a teenager is working so admirably with this dis-ease! My neice has GI problems and her doctor recommended she go off dairy, but it has been a struggle for her.
I'm one person who is not skeptical about the NAET at all. I've been getting similiar treatments from my chiropractor, and it's been tremendously helpful to me. I've been able to more clearly identify my food triggers and to eat more foods since I started. It's not a miracle cure - you have to be eating well and taking the right suppolements to heal your GI tract at the same time, but it has certainly improved my situation. My LC is mild though (no D.), but I had many other systemtic reactions to a wide range of foods.
I hope things keep looking up for you and Emily!
Be well, Celia

Hi Roni!
Thanks for the update on Emily. I think of her often and am delighted to hear that she is living a normal teenage life! You should be very proud of both of you!
Celia and Roni, will you please give me a quick review of the NAET? I would love to be able to eat tomatoes again.
Thanks.
Love,
Polly

Sorry for the misunderstanding. Emily is starting college in the fall. She is going to start community college and work on some of her basics. She is going to start out with 12 credits instead of the usual 15. We though it would be better to have a lighter load her first semester. I just don't want her to stress out. You know what stress can do.[/img]

Hi!
It's so nice of you to update us - I wondered how you and Emily were doing. I hope you stay in touch. And I empathize about you about trying to help your daughter - mine has diet/health issues, and she'll take my advice, but definitely picks and chooses which advice to take, and to what degree. Dang, I don't know who taught her to be so independent.
Oh yeah, it might have been me.
Oops,
Marsha

If that is Emily, she is a bombshell and modeling would pay much better than a video store.
Thanks for the update and I am with Polly on wanting to eat tomatoes again. Tell me more about NAET.
Thanks and Love, Maggie

Here are some sites that describe the theory and treatment:
http://www.naet.com/

http://allergies.about.com/od/naet/a/aa071601a_d.htm
This doctor totally disputes the validity of the concept, based on obvious discrepancies with science and logic:
