Over the Hedge

Post by Peggy »

Hey all

I had Friday off and today is a statutory holiday, so a nice four-day weekend. Ron got us a great deal at a hotel downtown ($400 a night room for only $99) so we spent the night Saturday. We did a little shopping, went to a matinee, and out for a nice dinner before spending the evening in the lap of luxury. Of course we had a nice (grossly overpriced) breakky sent to the room yesterday morning. Room service and a big comfy terrycloth robe...<sigh>

The matinee we saw was "Over the Hedge". What a great flick! It was my choice, not Ron's, but we both really enjoyed it. Who says you have to have kids to see some of these great movies?!

Only two more weeks and I get to see Robert Redford speak at a theater downtown. Only three more weeks and I'll be at Carrie's in New York!

I'm meeting Mom today for brunch at a Quay and looking forward to my last day of loutness.

Life is good.

Love
Peg

Hi All

Post by Momster »

Just got back from town. Peggy and I had a lovely lunch at a restaurant with a nice view of the river.

Then I met John and we went to the mall. Mistake!!! Because it's a holiday today the place was packed. I got everything I needed, but am one tired puppy tonight.

Well, off to put my feet up and get the swelling down.

Thanks, Peggy, for the lovely lunch. Nice treat.

Love - Momster

Hiya Peg,

What a great little mini-vacation! Doncha just love those big comfy robes? My hubby gave me one for Valentine's Day - Oprah has featured it on her show - it's called "The World's Softest Robe". Mine is a peach color and I feel so pampered and luxurious whenever I wear it.

Good for Ron for going to that movie with you! I doubt I can get Scott to go, so I guess I'll have to take my niece's kiddies. I hear it is really funny - a spoof on the suburbs, right?

Love,

Polly

P.S. It's almost June!

Hi Oma,

It's about a team of eight sled dogs who were abandoned in Antartica for 6 months. They were tethered up at the time, with no food or water. The guide who had to leave them couldn't get back until 6 months later, and fought to return in the middle of an Antartic winter (when NOBODY will go to the Antartic) because he was so haunted bytheir fate. It's such a good movie, I think it'll be shown years from now, like 'Wizard of Oz'. It's worth going to on a big screen. I might go again.

We owned at Akita, and the dogs in the movie looked so much like her, we might be a little unobjective. (My husband was tearing up at parts of the movie, because he misses her). I was so jealous of that dog - I swear he liked her more than me.

Love, Marsha
