An Easy Way to Add Images to Your Posts

Post by tex »

Hi All,

I realize that some of us have had problems with the ImageShack proceedure for adding images to posts, so I have added a very easy way to add images to your posts. You don't have to register, nor provide any other information to use this service, and, of course, it's absolutely free.

If you look just below the message composing window, you will see a new link that says "Add image to post". If you click on that link, it will open a pop-up window on your screen. Just click on the "Browse" button, and you can then browse to the image file on your computer that you want to add to your post. When you click on the desired image file, to select it, the file path will automatically appear in the window to the left of the Browse button. If you want to add a caption or any other comments to the picture, you can put that in the bigger box in the middle of the window, where it says Image Description. To add the image to your post, just click on the "Upload It!" button, down below.

The image will be automatically uploaded to the hosting site, and the Bulletin Board Code, (BB Code), will be automatically added to your post. The system will also automatically create a thumbnail image for you. Just like with the ImageShack option, anyone who clicks on the thumbnail in your post, will be transported to the remote server to see the full size image.

The ImageShack service will still be available, so you can use whichever one you prefer, or you can use both.

Note that this feature is not available for the Quick Reply form, so if you want to add a picture to a response in an existing thread, you will have to click on the "Post Reply" button. This is also true for the ImageShack option, and some of the other posting enhancements.

If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to bring them to my attention.

I hope you enjoy this addition.

Love,
Tex

Hi Liz,

Well, if we're gonna share a disease, we may as well have fun while we're at it. LOL.

I think this is a fairly new service. They may be having growing pains.

Love,
Wayne

Found the problem. Thought I had reduced the size of file but I hadn't.
Think they were too large.

Hi wayne

I made the bag for Judy while we were over visiting a few weeks ago. She is a classically trained singer & was a member of Opera Queensland before she moved to New Zealand. I thought it would bring back some memories for her. She really loved it & I made a table runner using the same fabric as well.

I love Sewing & crafty things. Apparently she has become inspired as a result & has kept her sewing machine out & done a bit herself lately. She is a very talented lady. She studied at the Conservatorium in Brisbane majoring in voice & also did a post grad course before studying in Italy & France for a year. She returned to university a few years ago & draduated with a degree in education just before Christmas at the age of 45. All this with two young children to care for.

Love

Liz

She certainly is a remarkable lady. You're obviously quite talented at raising kids the right way, also.

Jill,

That's a very impressive win. You must be an art teacher extraordinaire.

Congratulations to you both.

Hi Jill

Susan has a great future in front of her. She has a wonderful talent. I can understand why you would be so proud of her. It must give you a lot of satisfaction to know that you are helping such a talented artist to develop.

Twinnie, we all have talents in the areas that we choose. Look at you with your yoga & tai chi & stuff. If I tried yoga I would finish up one big cramped, tangled mess. You have a wonderful sense of humour & a great compassion for those in your life that you care about.

Love
