Wayne,

This is great information. Do the digital ones have to be hooked up to a computer to make them "fit" the individual hearing patterns of the individual?

My mom is completely deaf in one ear, but in the other, she has just a bit of residual hearing that helped lots more when she could focus on her lip reading.

She's misplaced her newer high tech jobie that fits behind her ear. That one was like a miracle, but she's misplaced it and we can't find it. She tends to prefer the ancient inner ear one that she likes cause it's not so loud. Old one that fits inside the ear is barely better than none at all, so I wonder if she's not past the point of being able to use the hunters ear?

I will surely tell my sister to have a look at some of those, especially since she's not yet even talked about getting any kind of hearing device. I think it would help her some since communication is so much of what she does.

Thanks so much.
Yours, Luce

Luce,

Here's some info on a digital unit from Walker. You can read about it, and see what it looks like here:

http://www.walkersgameear.com/itc.asp

Here's their home page:

All their products are listed in the menu on the left. You can click on any of them to see a description.

These are available at less than suggested retail price at sporting goods stores. It pays to shop around, if you plan to buy one or two.
