Display Your Country's Flag

Post by tex »

Hi All,

I apologize for the disruption in the ability to view posts earlier tonight. I was working on a feature that will allow us to display our respective countrys' flags allong with our posts, but part of the code refused to cooperate.

I finally resolved the problem, and the option appears to work ok now. To display your country's flag all you have to do is go into your profile and go down to the second section, (where it says Profile Information), and then go down to item number seven, (where it says Flag--between Location and Occupation), and select your country's flag from the drop down menu. After you click on the \"submit\" button, down at the bottom, your profile will be updated with the flag information, and it will display in various places on the board, along with your other profile information.

I thought this was a nice feature to add. If anyone sees any reason why we shouldn't be doing this, please let me know.

Love,
Tex

Very nice Wayne. Mine looks a bit lonely though among all the stars & stripes. Even the maple leaf would well & truly outnumber me.

Liz,

I didn't want yours to be lonely - here's a flag of a different colour as well!

Hi Luce,

Trust me, I was very tempted to add that flag, but then in order to be fair, I would have to add the flags for every state and province in the world, and I didn't think that I would ever get that done.

There are already 261 flags in the database, just to represent the flags of the various countries. There's no telling how many flags would be involved with that project, but it would be a bunch, to say the least.

Tex,

Just couldn't pass up the temptation to kid you a little bit about that.

I've not gotten around to attempting to put up my stars and stripes as yet. Hope I can get it done on this little gizmo.

Yours, Luce
