kitchen rules with gluten sensitivity
Hi Everyone,
Just wondering what rules in the kitchen have been helpful in your households with combining gluten tolerent and intolerent people. Do you segregate food in the fridge....or is that going overboard.
Thanks everyone.
Love,
Cristi

Hi Cristi
The only rules in my kitchen are:
JOANNA DOES NOT EAT THE
breads
cereals
cookies
bars
chips
milk
yougurts
cheese
butters
and the list goes on... and on... but seriously, I manage okay without to much fuss. It would be alot easier if my family would cut down on gluten products but my kitchen is full of them. sigh
Love,
Joanna

Hi Cristi,
Rules in our home:
Frank, for the most part, eats GF with me. But still eats his own bread and crackers. He is not a sweets person so that does not enter into the picture.
No food cross contaminates on cutting boards, pans or utensils.
Do not segregate in the fridge since most is jarred or wrapped.
Have not found need to do more than that or if I have, I can't think of it.
Love, Maggie

Mine are pretty much the same as Joanna's - also I have a \"hands off\" sticky note on some of my pricier treats/snacks - otherwise my hollow-legged children would leave me to starve
I'm thinking of designating my own jar of peanut butter, however - now that my older 2 kids are in \"serve themselves mode\" I am finding more crumbs in the jar than usual...same with the butter dish - I'll have to set that up...

I don't have many rules as Mike doesn't eat many sweets and doesn't mess with special treats I have, \"Not his thing\". He's a person that can eat one meak aday and be happy without desert. He'll eat desert sometimes but not all the time. Love oma
May I be more compassionate and loving than yeterday*and be able to spot the idiots in advance
I don't have rules, teenagers and husbands don't know how to follow them anyway. LOL. I rinse everything before I use it, including things that have gone through the dish washer. You never know when a crumb could have fallen on a plate. I make sure to rinse the bottoms too! Very important if you stack them before you use them.
