HI All - trouble with cider vinegar???

Post by m »

Hi Everyone,
I've been so busy with work and with home renovations that I haven't had much time to check in lately. Hope everyone is well. I was scanning through some posts and it seems like everyone is busy.
Hey, I have a question. Does anyone else have trouble with vinegar? Even apple cider vinegar? I made some beef kabobs last weekend and had a reaction the next day. The only thing I could think of was that they were marinated in cider vinegar, olive oil and fresh garlic.

Hi Melissa,

I hope your home rennovations are going well. That can really take oodles of time!

I definitely react to apple cider vinegar with symptoms of peripheral neuropathy...pain in my legs usually. I always thought it was the apples...theya re said to be quiet an allergenic food.

Hope you figure out the mystery! Celia

m,

Glad to "see" you.

I don't react to any vinegar. I think the distillation process removes all of the proteins. Apple cider should be fine but I guess you never know. Is there anything else that could have contaminated you?

Let us know if you have the same reaction again, that is if you're brave enough to try it again.

Football isn't too far away.

Love, Jean

Hi Melissa!

I have never had any problem with apple cider vinegar. And I recall Dr. Fine telling me that it is one of the least allergenic (and nutritious, he believes) foods. I believe he said that he tries to have some each day. He also said that apples have a mild anti-histamine effect and therefore were very good for those with allergies.

So I'm with Jean on this one. Could something else have caused the reaction? Was the beef injected or seasoned prior to your buying it? Seems like a lot of beef has "rubs" added to it nowadays. Did you grill the kebabs? Was the grill clean?

Of course, we know that everyone is different, as Celia pointed out. Let us know if you try it again.

Love,

Polly

I've heard naturopathic doctors recommend apple cider vinegar before meals too. It stimulates your digestive enzymes. Celia
