THE MEETING!!!!!!

Post by barbaranoela »

Well I cannot say enuf about the day---- :bigbighug:

A day, sharing, with friends is worth every moment in time--

Carole and Dave are the most gracious peoples U could meet---and sooo very friendly and warm---U would feel that U knew them forever--

So easy to be with---

And of course Polly and Scot--whom we met before are the best----another couple that make your day complete--

NOW--lets see --who did I leave out??? A super gal called Peggy--
Lou and I turned the corner just as Peg--Carole and Dave were striding to the restaurant---and I stood --pointed @ her and ran--
I thought for a moment Peg must have thought *oh my god here comes a crazy person*

Again--like I knew her forever--- relaxed---talking like we saw each other the day before---
In other words----its a wonderful feeling when U meet the people that U have been in communication with---thru the magic of a computer~~~Peg has been hosted by such nice, nice people--

And to think that Carole and Dave are but a little more than an hour from us--

Lou has pics---BUT--not used to getting them here so I imagine that C and D or P and S will have them here before we do!!!!

Camers flashing away---
So can U *feel* that we had a terrific time~~~
We had to cut the day short---cus Lou is having some issues---(bleeding while *P*ing to get right to the matter)

So thank U Carole---Dave---Peg--Polly and Scott for the time we did have--
So watch the board for some shots taken!!!

How wonderful for you all Barb. I bet it would have been difficult to get a word in edgewise.

Except for Lou's problem of course. Hope it is not serious. Maybe you can keep a closer contact with Carole & Dave now that you have met them & have found them such great, friendly people. Oh how I wish I could have been there with you all.

Lotsa Love

Mornin'!

It WAS exactly as Barabara described. Just like meeting long-lost friends/family. I don't think there was ever a moment when anyone was at a loss for words. I met Carole and Dave for the first time and felt as if I had always known them - as Barb said, they are so warm and gracious.

And what a treat to see Peg again! :redhead: She brought me a gift - some REAL Canadian maple syrup - which I adore. And it is always so interesting and stimulating chatting with her. She seems to be having a wonderful visit........the day before they had a lobster dinner at Carole and Dave's lake house! How I would love to visit Peg in Vancouver! I sure wish she lived closer - I'd love to spend more time with her.

Of course, I loved being with Barb and Lou again! They are terrific "peoples" (as Barb would say), and I wish we were neighbors. There would never be enough time to cover all of the topics we wanted to. Barb thinks I have gotten too thin - I think I am about 6 lbs. lighter than when I first met her a few years ago, but actually, she weighs exactly what I do! And Sis, you were a redhead when I saw you last - now a brunette! Whatever - you look wonderful. We were so sorry they couldn't hang out with us longer - Lou needed to go home to rest. Lou, we hope you were able to get a doctor's appt. for first thing Mon. AM. And we send our best wishes that this problem is taken care of quickly and painlessly.

Carole and Dave and Peg also took photos in the restaurant. I imagine they will post one when they get home today after spending the night in a hotel in the city. Then you can see for yourselves how much fun we had.

Love,

Polly

P.S. The show "Chicago" with Rita Wilson (Tom Hanks' wife) was superb!!!
Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.

We're just back in from the city. The meeting was incredible!!!! Carole and David ARE the most wonderful wonderful hosts and I'm spoiled rotten.

Barbara came around the corner at Rosy's and we knew each other instantly. She is as beautiful as she is wonderful and incredible (like I KNEW she would be). Had I known our time together was going to be cut short Iwould have given her my FULL attention at the restaurant...I didn't know, and LOU is so wonderfully New York, totally friendly, and so interesting I let him get a lot of my attentive ears (he is one incredibly interesting man!!!)

I've met Polly before and love her to death. Her hubby Scott is like six ten and when he met us after seeing the Broadway show Chicago he was so easy to pick out in the crowd - head and shoulders above the rest is a phrase fashioned just for him! It was soooooo great to see Polly again - this is our second meeting and I feel like we've known each other for years...oh, wait, we have

Today we did Ground Zero, the Empire State Building (86 floors up!!!), Wall Street, the United Nations, Battery Park, shopping, lunch, Trump Tower (me with a suitcase coming out of the door looking like I'd just been FIRED! Thank you to David for looking like a yokel carting HIS suitcase so I could get the photo op), and the Lincoln Centre. Whew! Glad we were home by 5:30ish to grab a cold one (well, me anyways) it' was over 95 degrees today at it's hottest.

Barb - you mentioned something earlier about needing a vacation from a vacation - nail on the head sweetie pie!

Love, Peg

Wow - what absolutely incredible visits! Peggy :pigtail: was the best house guest ever! We had so much fun and got along famously and I miss her already. And I wish we could have spent even more time with Barbara and Polly. They are beautiful people in every sense and it was as if we'd all known each other forever. I'm sure David and I will be seeing more of Barb and Lou since we're less than an hour away. And maybe even Polly and Scott since we share some affinities (theater and Atlantic City to name a few - and Polly and I both play the piano). I am still a bit incredulous that we all met at this message board and were so compatible when we met in person. How often does THAT happen? Thanks to everyone for your good wishes, and special hugs to Peg and Barb and Polly (and our wonderful husbands).

Love,
Carole
