Lightening strike

Post by annie oakley »

Beleive it or not....Our electrical box in the Barn was struck by lightening. We came home yesterday evening and found the power off. After some research, Mike got the House on and hooked up, then he workrd on the barn where the freezer is with all the meat(that was off all day) Luckily no one was here to open the door. Anyway after he took the box off the wall, found that it was all charred and melted in places. :raincloud: So afdter a while he got it running again....it's a thing to expect in the country. If you pitch sooner or later you have to catch. All is well now thos, except something ate one of the strawberry plants berries and all. One leaf is sticking out of the ground with the left over stems  I guess the rabbits had fun! Oh well who can begrudge a cute rabbit a whole strawbery plant? Love Oma

Wow! Close call!

It's a wonder that it didn't ruin a bunch of appliances that were plugged in, such as the freezer, etc.

Love,
Tex.

As Tex pointed out, I'm sure glad that all you lost was the box/breakers/whatever. That's enough but it could have been a lot worse.
