I couldn't wait until Gaea called me from the motel so I went over there and sneaked up behind her as she was registering at the desk. I grabbed her and she didn't move a muscle. She said, "I thought I told you to wait in the car." Then she turned around and saw me and all hell broke lose. Lots of screaming in the lobby.
Kelli was waiting dutifully in the car. We drove around the back of the motel, illegally propped the emergency door open, unloaded enough baggage for a trip to the Amazon, and then went out to Lori's
I had never been there before because when Lori and I have lunch we meet in a restaurant since the main idea is to get one or the other or both of us out of our houses. It is so lovely. We sat at a table on their back deck which was cool and breezy. Kylie made sure it was even cooler by coaxing us one by one to play with her by the pool. Surprisingly, Gaea didn't jump in it.
The brisket was fine, the strawberry daiquiris we super because those of us who drank wanted seconds. I won't go into the thirds and the fourths. Lori found some of those ittty bitty string beans and cooked them whole with onions and a wee bit of bacon. Dinner was wonderful. THEN Lori came out of the house carrying a mocha cheesecake. After that we all sat around like beached whales until it was time to go home.
We talked and laughed and did a little screaming and had a great time. Lori and Darrryl are such gracious hosts.
