Hi Everyone,

Well, I finally met with my primary. She had a lot of reservations about using a compounding pharmacy. I told her what I had found out about the process and gave her the name of the head of the Uof W compounding pharmacy. She agreed to at least talk to this person to see if she could get comfortable with it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed but I truely don't know what she'll decide. Hopefully I'll hear soon. I'll keep you updated.

Love,
Cristi

I am amazed at the reluctance of physicians to use compounding pharmacists.

I'm finding it astonishing that this is even an issue, frankly. Must be the younger generation has forgotten how things used to be done this way all the time. So much to teach in Med Schools these days, I guess they just forget to get around to some of these things.

Yours, Luce

I don't have anything to add to this thread, but I want to all to know that I have been reading it with great fascination. And more than a little ire!

I have a fried in Eugene who needed a compounded medicine for some reason and her doc ENCOURAGED her to go to a compounding pharmacy.

I will be very interested to know how all this turns out.

Hi Everyone,

I still haven't heard from my doctor. I wanted to share that it seems every state seems to treat compounding pharmacies differently and have completely different laws governing them. For example, here in Washington state, my naturopath cannot write me a prescription for the methemazole....whereas in Oregon she could. The state of Indiana has very strict laws protecting compounding pharmacies. I would have guessed that liberal West coast Washington would have a more open mind concerning medical treatment in general...but so far it's been old school..very conservative. Go figure! so, I'm still waiting...fingers crossed.

Love,
Cristi
