Feeling Better

Post by cludwig »

Hi All,

I'm doing much better this morning..a lot less nausia (so far knock on wood) but still having D. I feel I was definitely contaminated somehow. Yesterday was way too intense to be just an off day. It's difficult for me to believe that it was the shampoo...but that's all I'm coming up with. I'm off to the store with Jean's list of chemicals to try to find some safe products. Jean, I never thought about products my husband may be using...going to have to re place his stuff too. BTY, I never lick stamps or envelopes...I found out decades ago that doing that made my stomach burn, But I need to learn to keep my hands away from my face.

The one ingredient that confuses me is fragrance.....they all seem to have it listed....is it an automatic no-no?

Thanks for the support yesterday...boy did I need it.

Love,
Cristi

Hi, Cristi,

I am glad you are feeling somewhat better. I wasn't there for you yesterday, but I guess I did get in with my condolences just under the wire.

Now if we can just get your other end to dry up a little. :-D I am sending more good vibes your way!!

Love,

Sally

Cristi,

Fragrance could be a problem. The carrier is probably the problem, alcohol would be OK but glycerin wouldn't be. Unfortunately, I don't think that has to be listed. You will also notice that many of the ingredients aren't on my list because different ones are used in cosmetics. I found that putting the chemical name into my search engine often takes me to a web site that says what it's made from. Good Luck!

I'm glad you're feeling better today. I hope you continue to improve. When I'm contaminated it takes exactly 48 hours for me to feel better.

I find that I get contaminated a lot more often when my 20 year old daughter is at home. I have to be super careful because she doesn't think about spreading gluten around the kitchen. Polly tracked down one of her problems to her son who was making mac and cheese and not washing the pan very well.

Do you use a dish rag? I threw mine away and only use paper towels now. I feel a little bad about the whole environment thing, but I figure that flushing the toilet 15 times a day isn't good for it either.

You're doing great! Love Jean

Hi Cristi

I am glad you are feeling better.

I know it is not easy to follow a strict diet, but as well as very important, it will become a challenge to find out if a product contains gluten...
You will quickly know a lot more GF products. Just wait and see.

Keep up the good work!

Love,
Tessa
