?????????????????? this is my Dr.

Post by Momster »

Hi All:

I went back to see my Dr. last week and she "thinks I may have diverticulitus(sp?)".
I have been experiencing pain in the upper left side of my abdomen and she says after so many years of constipation pockets can form and cause problems, but that we won't know until I see the GI in August and then a colonoscopy has to be scheduled.
Well, we will deal with whatever comes - just to be diagnosed and know what I have and then to be able to start to take action will be a good thing.
I thought I knew when my GP told me I have IBS, until my knowledgeable daughter put me straight by explaining that is just a term Dr's use when they don't exactly know what's going on in our gut. Unfortulately, for Peggy, I'm benefitting from her experience.
I'm pretty sure my Mom had bowel problems also, but people of that era didn't talk about such things. I do remember many times when I took her out shopping and we would usually go for lunch and then she would have to make a mad dash for the bathroom and spend a long time in there. I don't remember as much about my father because he and Mom were separated when I was ten, but I do know a few sketchy things and one of them was that he did suffer from constipation and had to have surgery for hemeroids, so I'm thinking he may have been more like me.

Well, enough of this poo talk - I'll keep you posted on what happens when I get some kind of diagnosis.

(my tummy is rumbling today, too)

Love - Momster
