Bye-bye Job!

Post by Umber »

I lost my job last Friday. What started out to be a decent job ended up being a NIGHTMARE! I didn't mind the work but the manager was terrible. She has the worst people skills and her assistant is just down right the meanest person :devilangel: I have ever worked with. I was the third one to go in 2 1/2 months. I had a disagreement with the assistant on a Monday. She basically called me a liar & one thing you don't do is question my integrity! I stood up to her and I was outta there on Friday. They also asked me to notarize title applications with out seeing the customers sign. I absolutely refused and that was a problem for them.

I had my say with my manager. I remained professional but it all came spilling out. Her eyes were as big as silver dollars  and she cowered in her chair. I don't think she expected me to stand up to her. I also made a compliant with the general manager and H/R. I hope she takes to heart some of the issues I discussed.

Some of the people I work with were so upset. I did work with some really fantasitc individuals and made some great friends. They feel the same about the management.

I feel like a ton of bricks was lifted from my shoulders. I was also getting sick because they have their car repair shop door and the exhaust was coming into the office. I am chemical sensitive and I would get sick to my stomach and end up with a headache. It made me so sick one day that I threw up all night and missed the next day of work. Of course my boss was furious that I missed a days work.

In all honesty, I feel bad for my manager and her assistant. They are at such a miserable place in life and are both so unhappy It is really sad that they find zero enjoyment in the world around them. I pray for them every day.

I know its for the best and there is something better out there. But still, it feels terrible lose your job.....this is the first time I have ever been fired. I am an over achiever and have always excelled. I am not going to take it personal and I will move on with my dignity & integrity in tact. Upward and onward!

My daughter and grandbaby have moved out. I don't have a job other than finding a job so I hope to become a more frequent visitor around here.

Love and hugs!

Morning Lori,

I am also proud that you stood up to them and I have found though that most people do not take what you say to heart. I had a lot I wanted to say when I resigned on Friday but I knew it would fall on deaf ears so I was just very polite and will exit gracefully - but not what I wanted to do.

You will land on your feet without exhaust fumes and something you enjoy and will give you satisfaction will happen for youl.

Love, Maggie

Lori,

It sounds like you will be better off healthwise and spiritwise without this particular job. I'm sorry it ended so unpleasantly, but good for you telling them what the score was. It's their loss!

Good luck in your new job hunt. And enjoy this "vacation"! :cat5:

I am so sorry you lost your job. I know what that feels like, I lost mine when I had surgery. But there has to be a better job out there for you. You are too good a person to be kept down for long. You Manager and her asst need to regroup and refresh their spirit. Love Oma :flyingdoveleft:

Lorie,

I'm sorry for what happened, but I'm glad to see that you have the right attitude for handling the situation.

FWIW, exhaust fumes have the same effect on me.

Best of luck in your search for a new job.

Love,
Tex

That's a bummer but YOU WILL SURVIVE!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you find something you enjoy as soon as you're ready to find it!

FWIW - I get deathly sick from exhaust fumes - also from diesel. I had a terrible reaction when I was a senior in high school and will get a migraine, nausea/vomiting from a quick sniff. It's awful when I am behind a semi or diesel vehicle on the road - school buses especially make me sick!

Hang in there Lori! I bet it felt good giving them the "what for"! teehee

Good for you, Lori:

Life is too short to put up with that kind of bull___!

I agree with the others that you will find something much better and in the meantime, get some R & R.

We're all proud of you.

Well, from the expression on your face the other night when I asked you about how your job was going, I am not surprised to hear this. You should take being fired from them as a COMPLIMENT!! They obviously don't know a good thing when it's standing in front of them. And remind me not to ever buy a car from Beaverton Honda.

Take some time to relax with Ashlee and Kylee out of the house. I know you will miss Kylee, but we grandmas are not meant to be mommies all over again at our age. Once is enough.

Another better job will come along.

Lots of love,

Sally

Lori,

I remember how optimistic you were about this job, I'm sorry it ended this way, but as others have said, you will land on your feet in a better situation. Paint, exhaust fumes, they all make me sick. I think those of us with these autoimmune reactions are super sensitive to all those things.
