2 days after c scope stomach still weird
It has been 2 full days since my colonoscopy and my stomach is still grumbling and I have gas and just general discomfort. Is that normal for a c scope? I dont remember after my last one since I was not feeling well before I probably didnt notice an increase in those symptoms.
Dr Fine test shows positive for gluten and casien but negative for soy, eggs, and yeast
Maybe its UC maybe its MC? Who knows at this point, but at least I know my intollerances now... so heres to the road to healing!

I'd say this would probably be pretty common after a colonoscopy. Given that your entire GI tract was empted and prodded I would expect it to be irritated. Also, out the door went all the good bacteria in your GI (along with the bad). So who ever is setting up home now has the place to themselves and they're partying in there. I'm sure it takes some time for the good stuff to build back up.
Probably staying away from too much carbs/fructose/fiber would help the symptoms some for a while.

When you were in the recovery room, were you able to get rid of most of the air that they pumped into you during the exam? If not, you may be in the same condition that I was in after that exam. All I managed to do in the recovery room was vomit. It took me two days to get rid of the gas, and then I felt much better. I felt like hell until that gas finally decided to abandon ship.
I was actively reacting to gluten at the time, though, because I didn't have any idea that I was gluten sensitive, (nor did my GI), so it didn't surprise me that I couldn't get rid of the gas. At the time, that was "business as usual", for me.
Maybe your gut still hasn't healed enough to handle something like that normally. You've been GF now for . . . what? About 6 or 7 weeks?

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Like you ,(with your first procedure) I was so sick during my Colonoscopy that I don't recall any problems either. Gas, bloating and D had become a way of life at that time.
What meds have you weaned off and what are you taking now? You should have a DX soon!

Tex- I got most of the gas out after the exam, but I was still passing good amounts of gas on sunday and this morning.
I have completely weaned off of asacol and am down to 2 entocort a day. I will soon switch to 2 entocort one day 1 the next.
I have been GF for about 6 weeks now, but I dont know if I should count the first week since I might have been taking medicine with gluten in it.
Biopsies will be in Friday when I go in for a Barium swallow... yippi

As long as you're able to pass gas regularly, you're doing ok, as far as MC is concerned.
For me, that barium routine was even less fun than the colonoscopy, but that was probably because I just happened to be sicker on the day that it was scheduled. Gettin' rid of that stuff took a while, too. LOL.
