Good Monday Evening

Post by Momster »

Hi:

Here I am - not too worse for wear after working on organizing my craft/computer for a week. It's actually starting to look the way I want it. Two days just to sort beads and findings, but now I can find what I want quickly. I still have things to do, but a good start and now I can work at it more slowly.

I've been having fun organizing our holiday plans - September/06, 5 days in Whistler, B.C., March/07 - a week in Lake Chelan, WA and in July/07 - a week in Seaside OR. With our timeshare condos we have to book a year ahead to get the places we want and we want places where we don't have to travel too far - I don't do too well with airplanes because I get too cramped and suffer for weeks after a trip, so we try to go where we can drive. It's good for both John and I to get away, relax and we enjoy the condos because we can cook our own food and have all the amenities to have a great time. I'd like to go to Leavenworth, WA for a Christmas visit one year - I've heard it's just beautiful.

Anyway, back to reality tomorrow - getting ready for a three day blues festival where my sister and I will have a booth for her artwork and my beading. That will be fun. Apparently, the bands are going to be really good. We heard one of them a couplle of weeks ago and they were excellent, so we can do some toe tapping while we're there.

Have a nice day.

Love - Momster

Morning Momster,

You sound like me always planning ahead and also great at getting things organized so you can work efficiently.

I envy you all those weeks away but I insist that you enjoy them.

Love, Maggie

Hi Momster!

Just how do you organized your beads anway? I have a friend that uses tackle boxes- that works for her and she's pretty unorganized.

Bet you will do well at the Blues Festival and also get to enjoy some great music. How's your ebay store going? I'd love a link to it when you get a chance. Take care.

Love,
Joanna

We went to Leavenworth for Christmas one year. It was wonderful....they go all out and decorate to the hilt. We even had a little bit of snow fall...it was amazing!

I wish you would come and help me get my craft studio organized! I am overwhelmed and end up not getting anything done! I bet it feels good to have things where you can find them!

Hugs & Love

Yes, I'm looking forward to those holidays.

I think for Leavenworth, I would probably have to book a year ahead, but I'm not sure if I'll go next Christmas or 2008. I definitely want to see it, though.

I have special containers for my beads - they do look something like tackle boxes, but the sections in them are smaller. I have 14 boxes full of beads and a box with 16 pull out drawers for the findings (clasps, earring parts, chain, etc. etc.) and labeled them so I can find them easily.

I still have lots to do, but will do it more slowly now that the room is starting to take shape. I want to get into the bookcase that John put in the closet for me to go through my knitting and crochet books. I'm only going to keep a few really nice ones and some really old ones and give the rest away. I was thinking to call the developemental disabilities society to ask them if they could use them. We have a bin here at our property, so I could put them in there is they want them. Lori - I wish I could come down and help you with your craft room. Darn - we live too far apart.

Sister Sal - I will be at Seaside from July 16 - 23/07 - anyone who wants to invade us is welcome - we'll have a barbecue. I hope that's not when you're having your WCPPG - but if you do it just after, I could get John to drop me off and bum a ride back with Peggy - that would be nice - an extended holiday. Anyway, we'll talk about it when the time gets closer.

I have two projects I want to learn that I have never done - artwork with pencil crayons and water colour painting. Years ago, my Mom got a watercolour beginner's set for me and I've never opened it. I love the delicacy of watercolour paintings, so would like to try it sometime. Well, maybe someday. So many projects lined up - I have lots of material and patterns and want to get some sewing done too. Probably not until the weather gets cooler though. Also, the room where my sewing machine is has been taken over by John's tools, so he has to clean up before I can start. Poor guy is so busy he hardly has time to breathe. Well, getting him away on these holidays will help him to take a break, but that doesn't get the stuff done at home. I was trying to get him to think about setting working hours and not let people bother him after those hours. Don't know if I'll succeed, but maybe I'll get Peggy and Lisa to help me gang up on him with reason. He has a hard time saying no to people when they need help.
Anyway, I had a nice day today - manicure, shopping and was out for 5 hours just scooting around leisurely and back home via the path beside the lake. Tonight is off to Walmart to shop some more.

Joanna - I'll send that link to you.

Hi Momster,
I didn't realize you made flower arrangements as well as birds. Thought you would enjoy this picture of a beaded flower arrangement that my Mom had for as long as I can remember (a long time!) You are continuing an old art form!

wow------I also have a beaded flower arrangement of flowers,on a lacquered log, made by my MIL----

Momster---she was very created as U----also did that teensy weesy needlework(as I call it)
I have,on my wall, a needlework of an old fashioned gent and the other needle work is the lady---

She once made me a very fancy white boucle top and then sewed beads here and there---the women in the yarn shop wanted to buy it from her--

I still have it----wouldnt fit me now  but it is a nice thing to have--

BTW---my arrangement is in blue and white--with the green leaves ,naturally

Its such a beautiful art but so tedious--

luve and good day to all who pop in
