Reflexology

Post by Sally »

Well, the pedicure was something I did for myself because I am tired of trying to get over my tummy to reach my toes.

The surprising thing about it was that the woman who worked on me is Vietnamese and she gave me a lower leg and foot massage. It turns out that she is very proficient in an Asian form of treatment called reflexology. This treatment is based on the premise that there are pressure points all over your feet that correspond to different organs and systems in the rest on the body. She was as surprised as I was to find out that I knew what she was doing and why. Having your feet done is not merely having them rubbed nicely, it is a full on work out. No tickling here. I have been looking for a reflexologist for years and I have finally found one. I told her about my colitis and she knew right where to go for that. It is a place in the arch of the foot a little to the outside.

Oh, boy, I am very happy about this. I am going to keep a regular appointment with her not for my toes, but for my FEET! If you can find such a person, I really recommend this treatment.

Lots of love,

Weird Sally

That sounds soooooooooooo relaxing....even if it didn't do anything else!!!

I may have to look for one around here but probably won't have as good a luck as you have.

Oh I could use one of those right now. My last to go (first to come) gluten reaction is painful feet. They are fine when I'm on them or when I;m off them, but getting on them when I've been off them is torchure. Its like they are in little (big) vices when I don't have my weight on them.

And right now they hurt!

WOW Katie!! Me too. Not as bad as you, I don't think, but my feet are painful when I first stand up also. Especially first thing in the morning.

I never thought about it being gluten related.

Hi Shirley,

I never thought of it being gluten related either until I was gf for a while and noticed they got better! I am often (especially earlier in my 11 year career) on my feet for long periods of time for work, in heavy workboots. So I always blamed the pain on that. But now I really think it was the start of signs that I had bigger problems brewing.

Sally----isnt that reflexology terrific---

There was this girl @ the beauty salon who was doing reflex. and one day she pressure pointed places on my hands and then on my neck--
It was awesome---

She had Xplained to me that when doing this---it has to be done equally on both sides that have been worked on--

A few times I had her come to my house---and she worked on both me and Lou---

Keep it going MOI----it does give the body a relaxed feeling--

Namaste

Hi Sally...when one of my daughters was getting ready to have a baby, I treated her and Myself to a pedicure. It was the same place as when we had nails done for the wedding. This very old oriental owner asker her when she was due. My daughter replied yesterday. He said....oh we fix, we fix! He gave her reflexology on her feet and that afternoon we were in a labor suite at the hospital and had the baby in the wee hours of the morning. My FI: was real good at it. And I have been learning it off and on all my life. I love it. Doesn't it feel soooo very good Sally? Love Oma Aka Calamity

Hi Sally,

Have you noticed a difference in your stomach problems? I took a class in reflexology hoping it might help me, but the person giving the class didn't know enough, and I'm not sure I was doing it anywhere close to correctly.

I have felt a "lightening" in my whole body. I feel much more energetic and sleep better. I am going back for another treatment on Wednesday.

I think that if I think that something I am doing makes me feel better then it is!!!

Love,

Sally
