Hi MO!

I am hoping that no news is good news and that the migraines are in check for now. One of the current magazines (either Marie Claire or Glamour I think) has an article about migraines and talks about the necessity to go off of all meds to get rid of the rebound effect. I hope all is well.

I am having a very difficult day.

Woke up at 5am with a migraine after 6 days without.

Called Headache Dr. around 10am ...got the secretary who said Dr. is out and to try my Neurologist because I am not officially their patient (I went to them for a 2nd opinion)

Called Neuro. left message telling them it was urgent.
ICED my forehead, put on my sunglasses and curled up on the couch....

Neuro. nurse called me back at 11:30 and told me to take NOTHING until she found the transcripts from the headache clinic but that she would call me right back.

1:30 pm still icing my head with my sunglasses on......tried to fall asleep....couldn't.........I called the Neuro. back asking why I haven't heard anything.....they said the nurse was with patients and would call me back......

3:55 Neuro. nurse called back said SORRY it took so long but was trying to find info from the headache clinic....Dr. on call told me to take MIGRANAL nasal spray.

4:00 took the Migranal
4:05 Headache specialist called and told me to take NO MEDICATION!!!
They said my Neuro. did not try to contack them either and that they wanted to see me tomorrow at 3:30pm BUT now they don't want to see me because the Neuro. already told me to take the med.....

I want to see the Headache Specialist - they seem to know what they are doing but they said I would need a letter from the Neuro. (they aren't in the business of stealing paitents they told me)

Wow, that was a bit long.....I needed to get that off my chest.

What a STUPID runaround you got from ALL those people!!

Wish I could wring their necks for you!!!

If you want to see the headache specialist I'd go ahead and INSIST on them giving you the letter and be done with them.

You are absolutely right Shirley!
Aren't they supposed to be caring for their patients not leaving them in agony....

I feel much better today, I'm going to call the Neurologist to have them send a letter and be done with it....I'll probably play phone tag with them again!
