Traveling this weekend

Post by mle_ii »

Well, I kind of feel silly asking for this but I know this is part of my anxiety and self esteem problems. But please pray for me and my family in our trip down to Salem, OR. My sister is getting married and we're going to the wedding. Recent trips haven't gone all that well, as I stress myself and make myself sick in doing so.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

Sure thing, but please try to relax more, and enjoy the trip. Traveling should be fun.

Think about how happy you will be to see everyone there, and how glad everyone will be to see you and your family when you arrive. Think of it as a little vacation.

May your trip be problem free.

 Tex is right, please try to relax. Is it possible to take along some foods you know are OK to eat?

:xfingers: and prayers.

How exciting Mike! A vacation and a wedding too! Plan your trip down to food for snacks, entertainment for the little ones, (you do have little ones, right?), visiting with family who you don't see all the time!

Make this a fun trip and don't sweat the small stuff!

PS - I'm trying to make you feel better. I know how stress/anxiety can cause problems and make life just down right miserable. You can do it! I know you can!

Prayers from me too!

Love,
Mars

Hi Mike,
You're not silly...lots of people get stressed when they travel (including me). I always try to visualize my family arriving safely at our destination....creating possitive brain thoughts to battle the negative ones. Oregon is a beautiful state..I'm sure you'll have a great time. My prayers are with you.

Love,
Cristi

Mike,

Please don't feel silly asking or being nervous, with this disease that is a perfectly natural reaction.

If it boosts you any I thought I'd let you know my trip to New York went fine and was uneventful colitis-wise. Then two weeks later we drove 6 hours to see some friends and for a weekend of fun and no problems there or back either. Two weeks from now I'll be driving to Gaea's place, she lives in Spokane 6 to 7 hours away and has colitis as well, and I'm not nervous in the least. I DO have TP in the glove box, though...always do.

Mayo sus viajes estar bien (may your travels be well).

Luv
Peg

Traveling went pretty well. On the way down it took 6 hours because of bad timing as we hit rush hour traffic on a Friday in Portland. It only took 4 hours back. The Wedding was great! I had no problems there either. I brought my own food for the weekend and was getting pretty bored with it so we bought a few things at the store. I did a lot better than previous trips and recent trips for sure.

The only down side was right before leaving for home I didn't feel so good. And a few times during the time I was there I had had an ill feeling and BMs to show for it. It has to be all anxiety related now as I was eating pretty much the same thing I always eat.

I'm thinking about trying some meds for the anxiety now. Still don't want to, but I want to be able to travel and then do things while I'm there. Not feel sick the entire time. Though like I said this time was a vast improvement.

 I'm glad your trip wasn't a disaster and you were able to enjoy most of it at least.

Good to have you back.
