Stupid Question Tex

Post by kate_ce1995 »

While I'm procrastinating, I noticed that some rooms have negative posts and negative responses. How the heck is that possible!?

On the index page, "our History, our mission", and a few others like that...farther down. Ones that aren't used a lot. I think maybe the poetry page too.

I see them, too, Katy. Quite a lot of them actually. I have wondered myself, but was too timid to ask. Hee hee.

LOL. I couldn't figure out what you were talking about either, at first glance.

I assume you're talking about the numbers displayed for the post counts. I noticed that a few days ago, and then got sidetracked and forgot about them. The forum counts probably just need to be resynchronized. There's a built-in way to do that. I'll try to re-sync them, to see if that resolves the problem.

Thanks for reminding me.

Don't stress too much about it Wayne. I was just not interested in doing the work I was supposed to be doing, so was over-noticing things!

We are using Mozzilla at work which is where I noticed it from.

OK, when I went to re-sync the forums, I don't see the problem any more. ??? Something beat me to the punch. LOL.

Maybe it was just a server problem. I use Mozilla also. Do you still see the problem?

Yes, Our Mission and History has -5 and -18 by them, for instance. Does it really matter in the grand scheme of things?

Obviously not to me!!! I had to have the complete description of the problem before I even knew what you all were talking about.

Love, Shirley

PS...I checked on Mozilla and Netscape and I do see them there. Never noticed them the first time I looked because I was looking for "not nice" posts. :banghead:

OK, this may sound like dumb advice, but try clearing the cookie cache in your browser, and see what happens. I cleared mine last night, and the counts are correct, in my browser, (Mozilla). I doubt that it's just a coincidence.

I just cleared my cache this morning and the little suckers are still there. Personally, I don't care. Nothing is perfect. Not even Wayne!

Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Now that is mysterious. It's apparently a browser/cookie issue, or we would all be seeing the problem. The counts are currently correct in my browser.

I shutdown my computers every night and reboot 'em each morning, so maybe rebooting is necessary, after deleting the cookies. Rebooting does seem to solve a lot of problems, for Windows operating systems, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's what it it takes to resolve the issue.

Tex

P S You're quite correct, by the way, about me not being perfect. In fact, I'm so far from being perfect, that I'm probably not even in the contest. LOL.
