Is Anyone Familiar With Google Video?

Post by tex »

Hi All,

You may have noticed a new BBCode box above the message composing window, (second from the right end), which says "GVideo". I added that feature a day or so ago. In case you're wondering what it's for, here's an example. As you can see, you can use it to play a google video in your post, (or more than one, for that matter). There are hundreds of videos available, and you can even upload your own, but be aware that if you do, the video will not be private--it can be viewed by anyone in the world, who goes there. Also be aware that if you are on a slow dialup, as I am, it will take forever for a video to load, if it is more than a few seconds long, so you will need to exercise caution when using this feature. This one, for example, is one minute and 2 seconds long.

P S I forgot to add a title. You can add a title when you select a video. This one is called Skateboarding Dog.

Sally,

Okay, here's an educational one that may be more appropriate. (Sorry about the commercial that goes with it).

I never knew all that!! And with a COLON yet already!! I bet Miss BN will be fascinated by that.

And, yes, who among us does not love a Clydesdale? Peg will love the beer.

So now what are all those links 1-10 up at the top of the page for? They don't lead anywhere.

Hi Sally,

Wow! You're on the ball today. I just barely finished adding those, and didn't even have a chance to check them out, to make sure they were set up correctly, and you had already spotted them. LOL.

They're for future use, that's why they don't lead anywhere, yet. There's also an identical set along the bottom of each page. They can be used for either internal or external navgation. I don't really have any specific plans for them at this point, I just set them up, while I had the time, so that they would be easy to activate, in case we need them in the future.

Love,
Tex

Barbara, and anyone else who wants to add a Google Video to a post,

Here's how you you can embed a Google Video into your post:

Do a google search for Google Video, (or go to http://video.google.com/), and locate the video that you want to embed into your post. Once you find it, just right-click on it, and select save image location, from the drop-down menu that pops up. This will automatically save the URL of that video to the Window's clipboard of your computer. Then, paste that URL into your post, wherever you want it to appear. Highlight the URL, and click on the GVideo button, (above the message-composing window, and toward the right end of the BBCode buttons). This will add the BBCode symbols to the URL, so that the video can be played back in your post. After you finish composing your message, just click the Submit button, as always, and you should be finished. If you need to edit anything, it can be edited, as usual.

To play a video in a post, simply click on the "Play" button under the video window, which is the button on the left end, with the little arrowhead symbol on it.

Luv,
Tex

Wayne - LUV the skate boarding pup - I've seen him before and I think he's in a movie?

Sally - the horse video reminded me of a time Ron and I went and stayed at a guest ranch in the Interior in the middle of winter. We rode horses to the top of a mountain - IN THE SNOW! Swish, swish, swish was all you could hear. It was sunny, crisp, cool, and beautiful. And ( I sh*t you not) my horse's name was TEQUILA!

I'll play with the video thingy sometime...

Luv
Peg

The low water consumption toilets only move stuff about 12 inches with each flush... plumber told me that. He said to prevent blockages to flush the toilet a couple of times a day when you HAVEN'T used it to just keep the stuff moving.

I replaced both of our toilets with power flush ones before I got CC. Good thing.. or my toilets would have been clogged all the time I am sure... There is no water visible in my toilets.. it is in a little bullet shaped thingie that is under pressure. When my toilets are flushed you almost have to hang onto the wall for fear you will be sucked down the drain...LOL
