I just saw your post, as I have been in and out most of this month. How awful for your family! Hopefully, your MIL has been admitted by now. What exactly is the problem with hospital admissions? Bed shortage? Staff shortage? It must be so scary to sit by helplessly and watch her health worsen. Here, if beds are "tight", patients are sometimes kept indefinitely and treated in the emergency room - even for days if necessary. Or they are tranferred to the nearest hospital that does have an opening. Please try to take good care of yourself. Am sending prayers and my best thoughts and wishes.

Despiteful, I have no good news. MIL has not been admitted yet in hospital.
You must be wondering why she has not been admitted yet. I´ll try to explain it... It is not exactly the general Hospital where we want to have her in... That´s the reason for being it more difficult.
By normal course, it can take more than 2 months to get an app. with a specialist to deal with her ischemia. Obviously, her situation is an emergency and this should not be by normal course, but even if we try through the emergencies, there is usually only 1 option here to get someone admitted into Hospital. Above all, it has to be ordered by an emergency doctor.
The problem is that they do not want to decide it. Up to now to now, we had no luck with the 3 doctors who came home after we called for an ambulance. In fact, one of them even said that he did not consider it an emergency even though her foot was turning a light purple sometimes...
Of course, we were shocked because I have been surfing the net for a while and know much more about ischemia than they can ever imagine.
The last one said it had to be a specialist to decide, but of course, how can the specialist decide if she has not been seen by one yet?
Around 1 month ago, when her ischemia started (being in phase I) my sister in law asked for help at work and a friend of her (doctor) got an app. with a doctor who is specialist in older age care. They have a special unit at the Hospital with just a few rooms. It is extremely difficult to get a room there, but once admitted into that special unit of the Hospital they would manage to get the specialist in ischemia to visit her.
That´s the place we are trying to get her in, but again we had no luck today. No room available.
Should we try at the general emergencies at the Hospital, she would sit in the emergency room on a chair for maybe 6 or more hours before being seen by an emergency doctor (not by the specialist in ischemias). After that, we would have to argue to get her admitted and she could be refused... In view of the situation, we wonder if they would only accept her when she has gangrene... Oh, my God!
MIL is extremely weak, we cannot take her from one Hospital to another and she cannot be sitting at the emergency room for hours... That´s the reason for trying to get her into that special unit where they will take care with love, where they are specialized in old age people and where she will finally get the specialist for her disease...
As I mentioned before, today was my last day off. I have to go back to work tomorrow, though my sister in law and my husband are going to travel to the Hospital´s special unit tomorrow morning in order to ask them for a room, in person. I will be very nervous at work thinking about it but that´s it.
With reference to my own health, I wonder what is happening. I am still not feeling well (abdominal discomfort - sometimes pain - , nausea, headache and feel tired). I do not think I have eaten gluten these days, I imagine it is the stress...

She had a syncope at the Emergency Room and was taken to "Observación" Area, where she stayed during the whole day with no visits but with an excellent assistance. Finally the specialist went to see her feet and legs and confirmed that her situation had varied from chronic to acute, which means it is really urgent.
They have told us that they imagine she will have to undergo a surgery but cannot tell us more until they carry out all the necessary tests (this can take a few days). In the meantime, she has been admitted into hospital.
This is a relief, because she is surrounded by doctors (who know what to do)...
I am a little tired of a day of going and coming, stress and relief, etc. But not frustrated anymore. Even though, I really need some rest.
Now we hope that her ischemia is not too bad and that surgery is possible...
We are staying overnight with her (one day my sister-in-law, another day my husband and me...) Therefore, I am not sure when I will be able to post again but I wanted you to know how things were going on.

Thank you for the update. I'm sorry to learn that her condition has worsened, but I'm so glad that she has finally been admitted into the hospitaL.
I hope that they can soon determine what needs to be done, and then correct the problem with surgery, or whatever needs to be done, to resolve the problems as soon as possible.

As mentioned before, MIL is now in Hospital. She has a painful leg and feet but is well cared by doctors and ourselves.
I feel tired because we have been staying there for 3 days and nights with her.
We hope she will have to undergo some tests this week in order to determine the areas where she has the problem. Doctors said it all depend on where the blood supply restriction is.
Surgery might be carried out in order to repair the damaged section.
(Angioplasty).
I´ll keep you updated.

Oh, hon, you must be exhausted!!! Staying 3 days and 3 nights with a hospital patient is sooooooooooo tiring. Better than trying to care for them at home though. She is very lucky to have such caring people in her life.
I am hoping the whole ordeal will be over for her and you as soon as possible. I'm so glad she is getting the help she need now.

Yes, my husband and me were feeling exhausted. There were no beds for us but 2 chairs. He had his feet and ankles swollen and I had to give him an antiinflammatory. Furthermore, MIL had not a good night because of the pain.
They have upgraded the painkillers now and she is feeling better, but we are waiting for the test to be carried out, which is extremely important.
My husband has refused me going again to stay at night. He said I have to eat and sleep properly. So here I am obliged to rest. I will visit her in the afternoons. Though I would like to be with them tonight, I understand my health cannot afford sitting a whole night again on that chair and getting up at 6 am to drive to work... He was right refusing me to go.
I have to rest.
