At least, I think this was the problem--we'll see if she can post in the Poop Room now.
When I was explaining the way that forum permissions, (not user permissions), worked in the Forum Admin catagory in the ACP to one of you a few days ago, I showed you how to change the permission type from "Simple", to "Advanced", and after talking about the permissions for all the individual actions, (ie, view, read, post, reply, etc.,), I nonchalantly changed the permission on the "Registration" item from Reg, (Registered), to Mod (Moderator), after we talked about the fact that that's the way that the "Sticky" and "Announce" options were set. I'm not sure, but I'll bet that I was lookimg at the "Poop Room" forum permissions when I did that, thinking that it woudn't matter, since no one would be likely to want to list a registration post in the "Poop Room", anyway.
Here's why that prevented everyone below the rank of moderator from posting in that forum:
If you will notice, whenever you post a new topic, the "Registration" option is checked by default. It can be changed, of course, but the default is "Registration" Therefore, the system wouldn't allow anyone below the rank of moderator to even see a message-composing window, because registered users are not allowed to enter a "Registration" post, (if only mods and admins have permission to do so)
That change in the default posting selection came about when I added the "Event Registration Mod". Normally, it doesn't affect posting, because a "Registration Event" is not displayed with the post, unless the "Activate" box is checked.
I may be able to change that default selection, if I can figure out where in the world in the code it's hidden, but it will probably take a while to track it down.
The bottom line is, permissions problems are often due to corrupt cookies, but obviously that's not always the case. They're sometimes due to admin errors. LOL.
Love,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Thanks for the explanation. I was going to check that and got called away from the puter. Glad you found it.
