Hi Friends,
My son is driving now. He left for sports practice yesterday morning at 8 am., then called to say he was going to a friend's house, then called to say they were going to get a bite and see Miami Vice....so didn't get home until 9 pm. It is so bittersweet....you're so happy to see them going out into the world and becoming independent, but so sad because I know this is the beginning of him leaving our family. Our daughter is 21 so I remember the natural separation that starts with the driving....I am no longer the first to hear how their day went when I pick them up from school. I think I am a little less stressed about him being out and about because he is such a big guy(6'6"). I grew up in a small town where traffic was not an issue......the traffic scene here blows my mind....can't imagine being a beginner driver here.
So, my husband and I are left looking at each other...kind of confused by how quiet it is in the house now.
Love,
Cristi

Yes, but think of the freedom you will have, that will allow you to do more of the things that you want to do, now.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Cristi,
I know how it feels, I've been through two! My girls are 20 and 22. One left the moment she could the other may never leave. I predicted that at birth.
I'm glad they have cell phones when they are driving. It eases my mind some.
Love, Jean

Be kind to everyone, because you never know what battles they are fighting.
Hi Cristi!
My 6'5" son is 19, and I remember when he first started driving. I didn't worry too much about him because he is a cautious, responsible kid, but I sure worried when he was out in the cars of certain friends of his. I hear ya about the traffic nowadays. Congrats on another milestone.

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
