Checking In.............
Sorry I haven't been around. Besides being busy and tired, Bill twisted his knee really bad on Sunday. Emergency room..........orthopedic apt on Monday. Crutches, celebrex & if not significantly better in 2 weeks - probably surgery. They think he tore the "shock absorber" (forgot the proper name).
Anyway, just thought I post a note and say hellp.
Love, Shirley

Morning Shirley,
So sorry to hear about Bill's knee and do hope he does not need surgery. It only seems to help about 50% and if he does need it - hope he is in the positive 50%.
Take care and see you in a few weeks.
Love, Maggie

Shirley, I had a torn meniscus in my knee a couple years ago, and had arthroscopic surgery. It wasn't that bad, and afterward the recovery involved some physical therapy, and it seems good as new now. Took about a year to get as good as new. I tore mine in a fall. I was trying to dig a hole in hard ground and jumped with both feet on the shovel which of course flew into the air and me with it. What a show for the neighbors! I was trying to bury a pile of dog doo-doo left in the middle of my yard by the neighbor's dog. I was irritated at the time and not using good judgement. Also at the time I was dressed in white clothes and waiting for a ride to pick me up to go to a garden party with some ladies! I picked myself up and brushed myself off (trying not to groan too loudly) and crept into the house to change. The party was not much fun.

Sylvia,
FWIW, I've done the same thing, jumping on a "sharpshooter" shovel, trying to get it started in ground that was too hard to dig. I never had any luck with that maneuver, either, though I was always lucky, and never damaged my knees.
You're tougher, and/or more dedicated than I am, if you went to the party anyway.
