Hi folks!
Just trying to figure out what's going on and if this is "normal".
A week ago Friday I felt very tired, achy, head ache, had a fever and was dizzy. So I went to sleep early, next day felt mostly better, but was still achy and had a head ache. I also was naseous, lack of appetite and got full very quickly.
A week later, I'm still naseous, have a lack of appetite, and when I eat I cannot eat very much without feeling full.
My GI system other than that is fine. Normans, no pain in lower GI. But upper is off.
Any ideas? I'm seeing the Dr and a GI in a bit more than a week to figure out what's going on with this and with my maldigestion of sugars.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
That's a bummer. It sounds as though your stomach is not doing it's job correctly, but that could be because things are backed up downstream of it. IOW, if it weren't for the normal BMs, and the lack of cramps and lower left quadrant pain, it would sound like a classic case of constipation.
Nausea due to a GI problem, is usually caused by inadequate movement in the lumen, whether by failure of normal peristalsis, or by inadequate eliminaton. It may have been initiated by a 24-hour virus, or something similar.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Mike,
I just had what I think was a virus. At first I thought it was a food contamination, but I lasted from Monday until Friday. It's hard for me to tell the difference sometimes. My symptoms were about the same as yours. I figure that I'm more aware of how my immune system works now and it makes sense that a virus would feel about the same as a food contamination.
Am I making sense? Love, Jean

hi Mike---
Well I will have to add myself into the VIRUS group too--so they say!!!
Two weeks ago----I ran a 102 temp----for just one day---had the chills---night sweats--following me since then--
Feeling like a wet limp noodle---no energy---had an Xray--no pneumonia-blood work fine????
My eating is fine---drinking fine--
I am still feeling crummy,so on Monday I am calling my GP again--
Am wondering if this thyroid condition is causing me to feel like this??
So we shall see----
Hope U feel better----as I wish I would/should be feeling better than I am~~~
luve,
Barbara
