Back in Florida......

Post by starfire »

Chan & I flew back today. Flight was good. Didn't seem as long this time for some reason???? He did enjoy himself a lot and did some things new to him such as learning to shoot a .22 rifle, mowing the grass with a riding lawn mower (he thought that was great fun), saw some buck, doe & some fawns, went to the race track (harness racing and no we didn't bet), Grandpa taught him the basics of golfing & even took him to the course to practice putting on the practice green there. He wants to go back to Pa. next year.

Bill's knee is a lot better than it was earlier this week, but it is a long way from good. He started out on crutches, then we borrowed a walker (which he still uses some) and then he discovered he could walk slowly if he kept his knee locked (no bending). He is a very impatient man and I fully expect him to try golfing WAY too soon and injure it again. He has an apt on the 28th. Don't know yet if they will advise surgery.

Hazel & Sylvia.....Thanks for telling your experiences with damage to the Miniscus. I passed it on to Bill. I have no idea what he will choose to do.
I hope I never damage mine!!!

For some reason I am feeling quite nauseaous the last hour so I think I'm going to lie down.

I read all the posts (I think) but don't feel up to responding right now.

Love, Shirley

Welcome back, Shirley,

Well shoot, if I were in Chan's shoes, I reckon I'd want to go back to PA, too. That sounds like a lot of fun for a "city-bound" boy, in his age bracket.

Maybe the nausea is associated with the trip home. I hope it doesn't last long.

Love,
Tex

Hi Shirley! Welcome home. Glad Bills knee is a bit better. I damaged my miniscus on the left knee and hard arthoscopy surgery......then 10 years later had knee replacement. I hope he heals quickly and without surgery. I'm so glad Chan had fun, aboy needs to have fun memories. Love Oma

:welcome: back Shirley----sounds like a great time for Chan---being with gramps--

Hope Bill feels better and to add Louie also had the *minscus* laproscopically done---about 5/6 years ago----and all went fine--

It was in and out surgery----needed crutches for the first day---

So lets hope all will work out for Bill--

Yes Shirley. Just reading about this new hurricane. It says it could regenerate when it gets over water. Lets hope it does not become another monster like Katrina. Keep safe. Will be watching to see how you are getting on.

Love

Liz
