I told Lynn to notify the college----perhaps,if there be an infection, they might not want her to come the end of this week---
Yes, so do we all, here @ home, want Kait to have a normal --fun time--and have her get re-acquainted with life and PEOPLE!!!!
She needs to learn how to socialize---she deserves it!!!!!
Thank U all again---I am feeling *up-beat*----

Barbara-
I'm glad you are feeling better! Let Lynn assume the burden of dealing with all of this *stuff* - you and Lou are DONE raising kids It will all work out - even if you and Lou *don't* jump to the rescue, you know! It is okay to say NO!
My brother and his wife just had their 4th child. My mom was over there 3 days in a row watching the older 3 (she was scheduled to be induced, then got *bumped* to the next day, GRRR) all day...she is turning 75 in a few weeks, and this stuff exhausts her! She is starting to have a few health problems (thyroid etc...) and can't really do it so often-she doesn't have the energy! My sister in law "doesn't do babysitters" - it's not a money thing either - so my parents feel obligated to babysit since they know there is no "backup" plan since they don't feel comfortable having anyone else watch their kids.
I told my mom she needs to tell them "NO" and they need to deal with it. It is not fair to burden grandparents in that way, and there should be no guilt feelings if you have to decline a request. No one can take advantage of you unless you let them....
I'm sure special arrangements can be made w/the college for a late start or whatever - but LET LYNN HANDLE IT! You and Louie need to focus on taking care of yourselves. I hope this doesn't sound harsh, Barbara, but I know all of the *stuff* tends to stress you out, and that is not a burden you should have to endure! This is the time in your life you have worked so hard for, and you need to be able to enjoy it!
Take care,
Mary

Hi Barbara,
I'm glad you're feeling better. Anyone in your shoes would have a hard time coping with these kind of issues. Give your self a break and realize that you can only do what you can do....and some things are just out of our control. I hope Kait is feeling better soon. She has wonderful grandparents.
Love,
Cristi

Mary,
I'm laughing a bit, not because its funny, but because Geoff's brother does the same to his parents with the kid duties. Their girls have been in Texas with their other grandparents all summer and got back last week. Well, Erin has been dying to see Courtlynn, so on the day Geoff's mom watches his kids, she invited Courtlynn up so they could play (mind you these girls are almost 7 and big sis Kayla is 9). His mom gets home from a quick trip to the store and finds not only Court, but little brother too who is 3.5. Hello! His parents don't need 4 kids in their small apartment! And all because she was trying to do something nice for Erin and Courtlynn.
Geoff pays his parents to watch the kids when its all day like a couple of days a week this summer. He definately pays a grandma rate ($10/day...can't get cheaper sitting than that) but as she says, it puts gas in the car. And being on fixed incomes, thats a lot.
