fridge crisis!!
Our freezer/fridge went on the fritz yesterday - I noticed the ice maker was dripping, so Mike tested it (being the engineer geek with a garage full of test equipment that he is!) and found it was definitely running warm...repairman coming this afternoon - I hope it is not a *major* repair - it is only 6 years old!!
SO we have a neighbor with an extra garage freezer - she said we could use as much space as she had left - so Mike was sorting through the food - I yelled "save everything GF!!" since that would be most expensive to replace! The fridge contents are in the garage in our 2 camping coolers - had to toss some produce that wouldn't fit...
We are *supposed* to camp up @ Lake Tahoe this weekend - we need to resolve it by then, since we'll need the coolers! Let's hope I don't have to go *emergency fridge shopping* tonight! All of our appliances are stainless steel, so unfortunately they are more expensive!
I just got my van back from the dealer yesterday - new transmission - so now with the fridge, that's 2 - I hope the 3rd thing doesn't put me over the edge (these things usually happen in 3's, don't they?)
Boy - I hate appliance issues!

UGH! That really does suck. Of course you could just take all contents of the fridge camping. I';m sure you could whip something up out of the contents of those coolers. Might be an adventure!
We are going freezer shopping tonight. We want to buy a cow (butchered) rather than getting our beef at the store. This way we know where it came from and that its fresh. Geoff read an article about meat packaging that left a lot to be desired. I'd like to get some chickens too.
Have fun eating and camping!

Funny Pic Peg! Is that a dog?
I agree with Katy....that sucks about the fridge. We lost our extra fridge in the barn last week, it died. Didn't have much in the way of food in there. Just canned soda and Mike's Beer. He's an electrician....they don't work on thier own stuff, beleive me. Love Oma

May I be more compassionate and loving than yeterday*and be able to spot the idiots in advance
Wahoo!!
107.00 and we are all fixed!! Funny picture, Peg It was some rinky-dink switch that controls the compressor - oh and I got *lectured* about vacuuming my coils regularly
Now I have to load everything back in there (and I guess I should clean it out (scrub the shelves etc.... )
So we are back *on* for camping - and I don't have to worry about serving salad dressing with a side of mustard, soy sauce and salsa, since I get my coolers back!

Peg,
How did you get a picture of my great nephew in the fridge?!!
My parents also had a foster child (todler) that would open the fridge and help himself. Mom didn't mind either one having a snack. There was always the possibility the eggs would end up in the floor or they might eat something that should be cooked before eating.
Thanks for the memory!
