Hey Liz

I was sorry to hear on the news this morning that Steve Irwin the Crocodile Hunter was killed by a stingray off the coast of Austrailia. I really liked his shows. Love Oma

Yes, Barb, that was a very stupid thing that he did, and he was made more than aware of it. He got a lot of (albeit bad) publicity out of that stunt and I think that was the reason it was done...just for publicity. Don't get me wrong, I agree it was a stupid thing to do.

He was a very crazy, but very caring guy and I, for one, really enjoyed his shows. He was a huge conservationalist for Australia, as well. It is very sad that he leaves behind a loving wife and two very young children.

Yes, it is sad, & especially so for his young family. He lived a pretty dangerous life although he knew what he was doing & did not take unnecessary risks. It was a stupid thing that he did with 'Baby Bob' but it was actually not as bad as it looked on screen. There was actually far more distance between the croc & he & & baby than appeared. He was devoted to wildlife conservation & did a great job in that area. The Australia Zoo that he ran is just up the road from our place although I have never been there. Grandchildren have been & loved it.

Love

Liz
