Our Trip to Merry Ole England
Morning All,
This is as concise as I can do for our trip to see the family in England.
The flight out of Philadelphia was very security conscious and we only took off 20 minutes late but the return trip out of Manchester, England was horrendous. In line for over 3 hours and then rushed to the plane with only questions asking if you had any non-allowables - no checking done. Plane on ground and loaded for another 90 minutes and then take off with profuse apologies from the pilot. It was like the movie airplane from some psycho woman demanding first class the whole trip, part of the plane with out interior lights and viewing screens, 2 screaming kids behind us, and a man who nearly took a heart attack. Landed at PHila. and it was another almost 2 hours before we got our bags. 4 hours late overall and exhausted when we got home.
The vacation cottage was lovely and set 3 miles back off of an A road and the scenery was gorgeous there. Very private. The Christeing for Rocco was wonderful but with 26 kids it was a noisy affair. We went non-stop except for 2 days of rest and then the family was calling wanting to know if we were all right. We were fine except exhausted. I could not lead that life style. We did a lot of different things but boy can they drink. Got pictures back yesterday but I fail miserably at posting them.
Missed you all and very glad to be back.
Love, Maggie

Maggie,
Hope your resting up now after your trip- sounds like you had a jolly good time. I'd love to see some photos.
I have been doing a bit of facinating family geneology research the last year and tracked my fathers family back to Durham England in the late 1700's. When my gg grandfather came to America in the mid 1800,s for some reason he cut all ties with family there so it's been challenging. My hope it to track the family back further, locate and contact some living relatives and visit them someday. Those English castles are so intriguing!
Love,
Joanna
