Mandatory Gym Classes Not Helping With Childhood Obesity
It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Hi all,
I can't actually open Reuters to read the articles, but if the actual time spent exercising weren't so little during this so-called "manditory" gym class,, it MIGHT make a difference.
Schools sometimes use this hour for everything you can think of that doesn't involve exercise. What is needed is classes where you learn the proper way to exercise and keep the body fit for life -- "take-homes." in other words. You can learn alot of things later, but these habits need to be started early.
I sure hope that they are giving some attention to the meals served in school cafeterias.
Around here, the carbonated drinks have been removed, so that should help with lowering the daytime ingestion of corn syrup, at least.
I couldn't believe my eyes the first time I saw a soda machine inside a school that wasn't in a teachers' lounge. Does that date me or what?
The school systems allow this because they make big bucks from these companies, so this was a big obstacle to over come.
Yours, Luce
