Okay, I volunteered this morning to solicite signatures for a petition to get the Community Band I play in on this winter's Town budget. They pay us $2,000 to do 10 concerts throughout the summer in town. So we had permission to set up in front of the grocery store.
Well the store manager is a major prick and is holding to the "rules" of you can't approach people...you have to passively sit and wait for people to come to you. Like we can get the signatures we need that way! And I know I've been approached about stuff outside their store in the past.
Oh well.

Well, that's frustrating, but here's your chance to make the most of your adwriting skills. A large, attractive, and well-designed sign or poster or two may attract enough interest to do the job. Do you have anyone skilled in designing signs in the band? Are you allowed to display musical instruments? That might help to attract attention, also. Are you allowed to play recordings of the band?
How about something like, "If you like good music, sign here!"
Good luck,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
