It arrived yesterday. I'm wondering about the eliminating of dairy though. I have finally gotten myself adjusted to gf breakfast which consists of a drinkable yogurt (and a piece of fruit, or grapes or something like that), except for treat days (probably about every other friday) whne I get a pice of sausage and hash browns at McDonalds (and then I go to Dunkin Donuts for my coffee )
Well, I haven't read enough to be able to otherwise comment or have questions.

Hi Katy!
Happy reading!
You know, I think it's fine for you to ease into the diet. A little yougurt wouldn't hurt for now - I would make sure to find the one with the least sugar/additives. It would probably be best to add your own fruit to a plain one. You could also mix in some nuts and raisins too.
As one who has eased into this diet, the best advice I can think of to give you is to PLAN AHEAD. If you think about your meals for the next few days or week, pay special attention to having things on hand for snacks, like canned tuna, sliced turkey, hard-boiled eggs, a leftover pork chop or hamburger, fresh cut veggies to dip into guacamole, dried fruit, nuts, etc. The easiest way to do meat/fowl/fish is to grill it - just do extra to have on hand for lunch/snacks.
I'll be anxious to hear what you think of the book.
Love,
Polly

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.

Congratulations on even looking at the Paleao diet. Polly's advice to ease into it is right on. IMHO it can be interpreted in many many ways. In other words their is no absolutely right or wrong way. As long as I am eating with the major part of the concept in mind I do well.
Have some fun with it.

Katy,
This is a good book- glad you ordered it and I think it will explain alot of things about the Paleo diet that will give you a guideline to start with. Don't try to do it all at once.
I would not be concerned about the dairy either until you can get your arms around the concept of the diet and apply it in any way you can. Listen to your body and go from there. This is a big step for you, with you 100%!

Joanna
