I started antibiotics

Post by JJ »

Hi all...couldn't stand it any more. I have had bronchitis for 2 weeks and have been running a low grade temp. I finally started the meds today. The school nurse said if she were me, she would...my temp was only 99.2, but enough to make me feel crappy. The doc gave me the perscription last week, but told me to wait to see if I got better. before I started them....well...it didn't happen.

I also started my diet today. No noodles, rice, spuds, etc. No fruit either...maybe I can get my D under control. It makes me mad that I am now taking Entocort once a day and not seeing results. Sigh....antibiotics haven't caused bad D in the past, so I'm hoping for the best. I'm staying home tonight and resting...night night...JJ

Bummer JJ

I hope the antibiotics will clear up your infection real soon and - drat - the Entocort ought to kick in soon, I should think.

Stick with that diet..............

Hi JJ,

Hope the antibiotics "kick butt" and you start feeling better soon. Thinking about you and hang in there.

Hi Jill,

Yuk. Two weeks of bronchitis is enough! Which antibiotic are you taking? The Z-Pack seems to be well-tolerated by MCers. Are you taking a probiotic, too? Sorry to hear that the Entocort is not kicking in - maybe it will when you clear up the infection. But the diet is probably a good idea too. Hang in there, relax by the fireplace with lots of liquids, and feel better!

Love,

Polly

Hi .....thanks for your well wishes...I am taking Z-Pack. I am going to work today, but am part time, so will be done at 1PM and can come home and rest. I start teaching my after school art class tomorrow, so want to feel well...will keep you posted...already had D this morning. I ate some almonds last night because I was hungry...thought that was a good choice, but maybe upset the apple cart...who knows....TTFN...JJ

Hi Jill,

I am also taking Z-pac - the only antibiotic I tolerate well. I have ear infections (water behind the ear drum) in both ears. I suffered for a week until I gave in and went to the doctor. I figured my hearing was more important!

I truly understand the worn out feeling after work. I have to make a road trip today for a ground-breaking ceremony on a new construction project. NOT fun because I will be home late. Guess I'll grab a blanket and the remote and veg out on the couch when I get home.

You take care of yourself. Plenty of hydration and bed rest will make you feel better!

Love,
Mars

Hi....I have a break at work..one more class to teach after lunch, and then I'm done...well...not quite...need to stop at the tech office.

Anyway...sorry about your ear infection Mars...ouch! I have never had an ear infection, no strep throat, and only tonsilitis once. I guess I have been lucky! I am more prone to sinus infections and bronchitis, although I haven't had either one in many years. The bug I have is making it's way around school...our receptionist has had it for 3 weeks and is finally going to the doc today. Many kids are sick with a variety of cold bugs! I brought my bottle of hand sanitizer to school today....will start to use it often.

Take care...JJ
