Hi Barb. I think Oma must have been having problems with her connection or something. She did not say anything. Just kept popping in & out.

Love

Liz

Hi Liz, Janet here, how are things with you in Oz, Having just come back from a holiday in Wales and Ireland seeing friends and family and attending a wedding in Killarneym I have been putting Asacol to the test trying to keep in an optomistic frame of mind regarding this. It isnt the miracle cure I first thought, but i definately feel i have more control of my bowels. I am occasionaly driven to taking Imodium if I have to go somewhere like shopping in case I cant locate a toilet.
Have you ever tried Asacol.
Regards Janet

Hi Janet

No I have never tried Asacol but I have tried many other treatments, including Prednisone & Entocort & Imodium . Am presently just taking Colofac X 3 times per day & Lomotil or Gastrostop when required. Still having the odd problem but am getting along fairly well at the moment but I don't hold me breath.

Sounds like you had a nice time on your holiday. It is lovely to catch up with friends & family, especially if you have not seen them for a while.

We are just coming into Summer here in Australia & it looks as though it is going to be a doozy. It has been pretty hot already & it is expected to be a hot dry summer. We have bushfires in some areas but not around here as yet, thankfully. Fires last week were driven by 100km winds & several houses were burnt down. They are predicting more to come because it is so dry. We are on level 3 water restrictions at moment & expected to go to level 4 in November if we don't get a decent lot of rain. Some areas are on level 5 restrictions already. It is the worst drought that I can remember.

Hi Barb....No I didn't think the chat was privet....I was having issues with my puter. It wouldn't let me reply. Hopefully it's ok now.
Did you get my card?

Janet.....I used Asacol for 3 years and have been in a remission without meds since April of this year.
Love Oma

Hi Oma, Thanks for that, guess I will keep going with the asacol, Im not perfect but getting there, or trusting that I will, I have to see my gastro Dr next month to report any improvement in myself and, yes there is for sure, but Im still not back to being free from potty dashing, all I can say its more normal now, and not a quick splash.
Perhaps I should stop bread I eat very lettl of that but I like butter on it dairy of course, perhaps I should try to incorporate a bet of a diet along with the medication. who knows.
I have pasta for supper this evening, hope that stays inside me a while.

Thankyou Liz for your reply, I hope you have some nice soft rain soon in Oz, and you can look forward to a great summer, we are now going into Fall here and everythings on the praire is golden red and all shades of brown, so pretty.
I have a brother and sister in law in Perth they went to live in Oz about 19 yrs ago, and have settled nicely with their family around them.
I have seen my sister in law a few times since and but not my brother, I did talk to him on his 70th birday and that was lovely.
talk to you girls later.
Chhers for now,
Janet
