Bob's Recovery

Post by bobh »

Hi Folks, just wanted to let you know that my "remission" has lasted over 3 weeks now, and is starting to appear stable.

I just posted something under "Personal Experiences with Medications" in case it helps someone else in the future. I really, really wanted to stop the 6 month flare up with diet alone, but it just wasn't happening - so tried the meds.

A very short run on Prednisone, quickly shifting over to Entocort, while taking Asacol. I have had normal BM for over 3 weeks, usually once a day.

It is an amazing, "night & day" change from the "pressurized paint with explosive gas" that I had been experiencing. And once the fire is out - it seems like real healing can take place, and I can wean off the Entocort before too long.

So far, this is looking better than a "one week wonder". Thank you all for your support, and wealth of info on available on this site. I know that diet is really important, and will always be a part of the solution for me. The info and exchange of ideas here is better than anywhere else on this planet.

Alllll riiiiiight, Bob! Great news!

And you should pat yourself on the back. You have made amazing progress, especially considering how long you had been sick with MC. YOU deserve a lot of credit for taking charge of your health and figuring out exactly what kind of treatment plan would be best for you. Please keep us posted.

Love,

Polly

Right on Bob!

Thanks for your post in the medications area- it will help many, for sure. I agree with you, this is the best MCsite on the planet! So glad your feeling better but while on your honeymoon please stay in tune with your diet. In the long haul, diet just may be our saving grace.

Joanna

Yep. I have hit the wall too many times to abandon the things that are helpful on the diet. I basically can't eat processed food - and the few times my wife drags me to a restarant I get shrimp or something they can't inject with "flavor enhancers" etc.

Thanks for all your help folks!

Congratulations Bob and I really do hope this is the big R for you since you have had a very long time of suffering. I do love your description of "pressurized paint". First time I heard it and it is a very apt description.

Love, Maggie
