I'm Ready To Place An Order For Some T Shirts

Post by tex »

Okay,

If I'm reading the posted opinions corretly, the general consensus is in favor of a small logo, about where a pocket would otherwise be, on the front of a white T shirt. If I'm wrong, now is the time to point it out. Someone suggested, (in an email), a colored T shirt, (moss green, dark green, or khaki), however, that's going to make the logo less conspicuous, and we would probably have to print a white border around it, to make it more visable, which would raise the cost a little, since the screenprinter would have to print another color in the logo, white, (for the TP, toilet, and border), in addition to the dark blue, green, and gray already required. However, if you prefer a color other than white, now is the time to bring that up.

Also, I need a number for the size of the logo. Everyone seems to agree that it should be small, but small is a relative term. What do you call small? One inch? Two inches? Three inches? Somewhere in between? The cost is the same, whether the logo covers the entire front of the shirt, or is so small that it can barely be seen.

If we can settle on the specs, it shouldn't take long to get them printed.

Tex

P S Oh yes, Luce mentioned the possibility of advertising this site on the back. I don't really have an opinion on that, so I'm completely open to suggestions. We might want to try some without, for example, and if they're a hit, we can always come out with more options, for a second printing, but I'll order whatever we decide on.

Hi Tex,

I don't really have any preferences either way but I got a good laugh out of grannyh's comment on the other thread.

"Ask Me About My Intolerences" say, written on the back is pure marketing genious. It's very funny too.

This is such a great idea! What do you need from us to place the order? How many, sizes, $$? Will they be sent to you and you will mail them out? Thanks so much for handling this!

Hope you all are having a happy Sunday afternoon.

Love,
Joanna

Hi Joanna,

We can certainly add that phrase, (or whatever), to the back, if enough members are in favor of it.

To place an order, I need to specify the logo design, placement, size, logo colors, shirt sizes, shirt color, and quantity. There's a setup charge of $45, so obvoiusly, they have to be run as a batch, (not as the orders trickle in), and there's an art charge of $25, so that's why we need to settle on a design.

Yes, I'll have to distribute them. That should be simple though, if we use something like flat rate priority mail, (except for shipments outside the U S, of course). I won't even have to weigh them - just stuff them in an envelope, and slap on a label and postage.

I got a quote for quantities in the 25 to 50 range, and the shirts themselves are pretty reasonable. I'm sure we could get a little better price, for a larger order, but whether or not these turn out to be as popular as hula hoops, remains to be seen.

Love,
Tex

When decided, let me know I will foward the $$$$$

Thanks a million for all that we lay on your shoulders-- :bigbighug:

Hi Tex...OK, I'm in...an X-Large please. For the first one, I like the idea of just the logo where a pocket should be, like 2 1/2" square or something like that....However, I really like Joanna's idea too.

Jill,

You're the first to answer my question with an actual number, so unless we get a bunch of votes for a different dimension, the logo will be approximately two and a half inches square.

Thanks,
Tex

Morning Tex,

Logo - 2 1/2" to 3" is fine.
Color white - great and logo in our colors
Advertising - I think it would bring people to the website to maybe just be smart and we don't need that again.
Additional writing on back - not necessary
Me - size medium
Frank - size large but he will really say it should have been a medium.

Question - are these unisex size shirts because that can help make the decision on size?

Love, Maggie

Maggie and Barbara,

Thanks for brining up the question about the sizes. I've posed that question to the screenprinter in an email, so hopefully we'll know later today.

Small for me. And I agree with logo size 2-3 inches.

Thanks.

I'll take a medium. I think the logo should be on the smaller side - 3" is too big IMHO.

How about like this?

I just measured the one I see on my computer screen and it's 1 1/2 inches. Just the logo - not the words.
I realize that different screens will be different but try measuring yours and see what you think.

I think 1 1/2" is fine and 2" is plenty. Everybody has their own ideas and I will go along...........

I love the idea of a tshirt, but I'm not crazy about wearing a logo with the toilet, etc on the front. I'm so sorry, but it's too personal to be able to wear it most places, as much as I'd like to. (And I'd really like to wear it anywhere and tell everyone about this site)

Is there any way to come up with a alternate logo/image that is more subtle? For instance the Charmin people have used a bear in the woods, which cracks me up. They also use in tv ads the angels who keep the tp well stocked, and make bathroom jokes while they do it.

I'm not suggesting you change the original logo. I mean, geez, MC is what it is, and there's no way getting around it.

Anyway, I hope you understand, and I think a tshirt is a great idea.

Love, Marsha :flush:
