Hi everyone,
I know we don't have any Vets on board but here's my ? anyways.............
Our bloodhound - the one that was so sick, has developed bumps all over her back and sides. They look like what they call "fat bumps" which the Vet said they were when she was in last. They have increased in number and in size (50 cent size). She has been biting them and they are open and raw.
Does anyone know what we could try at home before we head to the vet again? She doesn't seem sick in any other way. No loss of activity or eating habits.
I know we may have to take her to the Vet if we can't get it under control but it is soooooooo expensive! We also have a terrible time taking her because of her aggression.
Thanks for any ideas.
Oh PS - we have been told that there is NO cancer when they took her bloodwork a month and a half ago. Vet specifically called them fat bumps but she has never bit them open before.
Love,
Mars

"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful." -- Buddha

Hi Mars, I use Tea Tree oil....3-4 drops....in my dogs shampoo for flea prevention. It also has an antiseptic effect and acts as an anti itch aid, as well. You can also apply it directly to the spot but it has a terrible smell. When I put it in my Goldens shampoo, I just get out as much as I think I will need then add the TTO. That way the smell leaves as soon as he is dry. Good luck. Love, Carol

I agree with Polyy on the collar, But we had a dog at the shelter that had something like that, and we had to send him to the vet because the sores will become infected. Until you get him to the vet, wash in mild soap and water. There are different things that different breeds are intolerant to. Becare what you use. Tea tree is a great oil for infection but it will sting on open sores, Love Oma
