Howdy there! We got 1-3/4 inches of rain this last weekend. We needed it, altho we didn't need the mud pit it creates when It rains. But I won't complain.....Bring on the rain huh? Glad you got rain also. Love Oma

You DID get a good rain. I'll bet that country is really beginning to green up again. It's green around here again, and pastures are looking good.

The deer and wild hogs are ignoring game feeders around here, due to a small acorn crop and lots of fresh growth in the pastures. I was out last Saturday afternoon, watching a feeder with my video camera, but all that showed up was a flock of about a dozen turkey hens, and they barely pecked at the corn under the feeder. They "grazed" around me for almost half an hour, though, pecking at the weeds and grass stems. I assume they were finding seeds and insects.

Love,
Tex

Oh, Wayne & Oma ...........
I forgot to tell you!! My son & a friend are in Pa. archery hunting for a couple of weeks. Bill (hubby) decided to go up in the woods with them for something different to do (different from golf I suppose - ha). Anyway, he got to watch a Mama Bobcat and her Cub for about 45 minutes. Mama left the cub near Bill's tree for a while when she went hunting. He said the cub played and acted just like a little kitten. He throughly enjoyed the experience. Wish I could have been there myself, but if I had been in Pa., I'm sure I would have been in the kitchen cooking for the guys. (sigh)

I'm jealous of the green! We are well past peak foliage now, so its downhill scenary wise until March or April. Ah well, only another 8 or 9 weeks and the days start getting longer again!

Shirley, that is so cool. Wish I could have seen that too.

We haven't seen our turkey flock this year. The raspberry patch didn't do too well either so I suspect they found "greener" pastures this year. Wild food sure has been plentiful.

Hi Shirley, I bet that was a peaceful experience. Mike watches the Bob Cats move around the pastures and fields and just loves it. There's nothing more fu and fulfilling than to watch wildlife.

Tex: The deer are still eating the corn we put out also the feeders. And the small critters are still eating stuff we put out also. This afternoon and tonight, I don't know as it's 53 deg here right now.
