Two New Rapid Tests For Celiac Disease Prove To Be Accurate

Post by tex »

Maybe a few doctors will begin using these tests, and someday in the near future, it will no longer take forever to get a diagnosis for celiac disease.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Morning Tex,

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the USA adopted this method but we all know the FDA will take forever to give it an OK. I actually buy make-up in the UK when I go that I cannot get here since the FDA will not approve the ingredient list. Never have had a problem with it but they are just way too much.

Great research you do.

Love, Maggie

Well, they're just blood tests, and only require a single drop of blood, for each test, so theoretically, they shouldn't be too outrageously priced. But then, I'm not sure that many in the medical profession actually understand what the word "outrageous" means, ehen it comes to pricing. LOL.

That´s an excellent news and I am with you, Tex.

But we should not forget that stool tests are more accurated (My blood tests were negative)...

Even though, it is indeed a great advance as this will avoid many to undergo other tests...
I am happy about it.

Tessa,

You are correct - those are celiac tests, so they may not work for those of us with MC, who are not also celiacs. At least now the doctors will have some simple, accurate tests that they can use for celiac disease, so maybe it won't take over 11 years, on the average, to get a correct diagnosis, (provided they start using those tests.
