Review on Kait---the final ONE
After the plastic surgeon opened her---the *H* group proceded to go deeper and clean around the shunt area---
Kait came home last weekend(I think--time to me is a lost thing)--
She has a PIC-Line in---and her anti-biotics are delivered to her house each day---and Lynn hooks her up to the anti-biotics --thru the pic-line--
Now Kait had to go back to the college cus as much as they were being over co-operative---if she misses any more dayz she is OUT!!!
So each day Lynn drives her in--picks her up---does the Biotic thing and then runs her back to school-
It is my opinion that Kait should take time OFF and get herself *somewhat* more in control/and go to the community college @ home--
My opinion is wrong --AGAIN!!!
So, today we are going to pick her up @ school----and drive her home--so that she can have her anti-biotics---
Needless to say I am not to happy with this routine--and Kait's mom, my daughter is very manipulative~~~
But *whatever*!!!!
Her friggin--ass-hole of a person with the title DAD should be doing this!!!
So---thats it----I am not updating anymore---
Sorry if-- Iam not sounding like the TYPICAL GRANNY(as Lynn has dubbed me) but appears my life dont mean a thing!!!As everyone says---what does she do when U and Lou arent here!!!!
And thats why @ times I hate coming home---
Finished!!!!
luve Barbara---the Grams that doesnt give 120% of herself?????

Well, there's no question about it, Kait's life is complex, and she is highly dependent on others, (through no fault of her own), to help take of her. When that much support and help is required, there's no way that the fallout is not going to be far-reaching, and affect the lives of everyone near and dear to her.
You may be right, that all concerned would be better off if she got her health issues under better control before starting college. With a schedule of regular treatments, (and no telling what else), that is so demanding, it's unlikely that Lynn will always be able to do it without help. As much as we all hope that this is the last time that she will have to go through this sort of treatment, based on past history, the odds are relatively high that other issues will continue to arise from time to time.
We all have different acceptance levels of how much time and effort we are willing to devote to others' welfare, and we each have to decide how much we personally can "give", before we feel overwhelmed, and our own quality of life deteriorates to an unaceptable level.

P S I hope your post does not turn out to actually be the final review. We like to know what's happening in the lives of all the members of our familyl, and updates are always appreciated.

Hi Barbara, I agree with Tex but at the same time am wondering....Why doesn`t Lynn administer the meds right in Kaits dorm room since she is going there anyway? And, is letting the nurse at the collage give her the meds an option? I have had a PIC line so I know it is not like giving an injection. Love, Carol

An apology---
How selfish of me to gripe about picking Kait up--
We got to the college---and I watched as the kids ran off in pairs---running to their cars---laughing---being happy~~~
We waited for Kait---and waited---finally Lou was buzzed in(they all have security cards to get into anyplace) and someone had to go and wake her up--they all knew she had surgery again---
And when I watched this tiny little grandaughter walking out--looking so tired I wanted to cry----
She was so happy to see us--and I thought---*how could I be annoyed to pick her up*!!!!
I do feel this is a little too much for her to handle but Kait wants to continue---I have to give her much credit for this----
I hope U all dont judge me for the way I *ranted on*
Thank U ---my family~~~~
I will keep the updates----U guys have gone thru all the things that have happened in my life---well most of them ---and Kait is so very special-----

Barbara,
I couldn't keep the tears from welling up in my eyes when I read your post. You truly are a gifted writer - you write straight from the heart.
Don't worry, none of us will ever criticize you for venting your frustrations. Since none of us can walk in your shoes, it would be very inappropriate for any of us to judge you for "getting it off your chest".
Besides, we all know that it's much better to talk about our frustrations than to hold them in and allow them to fester and grow, until the stress begins to affect our health.
Luv ya,
Galahad

Barbara, we all know you love Kait dearly. No judging here. Wayne's right, you need a place to "let off steam" because otherwise you might "explode" in a way that would make you very sorry that it happened. No "consequences" here so spew away.

Don't worry, Barb. You need to vent. You only get upset because you care so much.
I was wondering if there is a responsible student on campus who would like to earn a little money be transporting Kait so some of the pressure is off the rest of the family? It might be affordable because it wouldn't be a "Service", but someone who'se already on campus, and returning to campus, and who only wants a few hours of work now and then.

Morning Barbara,
Great talking to you and getting a real-time update on Kait. I agree that she should probably take some time off from school, but that would make too much sense and none of this makes sense in her life or your;s.
Rant all you want, we are here for you when no one else will listen.
Love, Maggie
